Maddog is getting closer!

Featured Replies

The maddog is currently in advanced beta testing.

The initial release version is labeled as "basic package" featuring the MD82 with the honeywell box. The "basic" part might seem as a misnomer, because when it comes to features, Leonardo explains

Quote

" Essentially, if it was in the Prepar3D version, then it’s here. The only exception is the weather radar, which Leonardo Softhouse has confirmed will be added as a free update once they are able to do so"

Same with me. This plane along with the upcoming BAe-146 look like they're going to be lots of fun to fly. I enjoy Airbuses and Boeings, but there's something about these more analog planes that are just more fun and rewarding to fly, in my opinion.

Wow, the Maddog may beat the PMDG 737 and the Fenix A320 to be the first study level airliner to be released in 2022 for MSFS.

I feel like I better get some GA flying in now because I’ll likely be doing a lot of airliner flying in the coming months!

Excellent! To be honest, I hadn't flown the MD80 series in a while owing to United and Delta parking theirs permanently, but with PKSim announcing Caracas to be release din April, we've got ourselves a new, prime MD80 destination!

When coming in to land, Is there an Aural Sound?

from 50 feet above ground to touchdown?

If you mean that rather annoying wuuuuuuu sound that increases in tone as you descend to minimums, then yes. But I don't remember any sound that plays down to touchdown?

Except your "reality" pic is a DC-10, not an MD-80.

The MD-80 doesn't have a flight engineer. This is a flight-deck from DC-10.

So how many upcoming, high quality payware tubeliners are we up to now?

My wallet is READY! I just need GSX to complete the immersion factor.

Take-offs are optional, landings are mandatory.
The only time you have too much fuel is when you're on fire.
To make a small fortune in aviation you must start with a large fortune.

There's nothing less important than the runway behind you and the altitude above you.
It's better to be on the ground wishing you were in the air, than in the air wishing you were on the ground.

Yeah, I know. The original post said 'Maddog X' which I thought meant someone was making a DC-10. My error.

Maybe Quality Wings will show their 787 soon they are usually a quiet bunch. Good times for MSFS users either way in the near future for the heavies.
