March 3, 20224 yr Hi! I've emptied the community folder completly and I've have no rolling cash and no Google Maps addon, but I recently got those dreadful spikes in some places. I'll guess I've seen them occasionally in USA and Europe for a couple of weeks now so I don't think it's a SU8 thing. Like many users, I've had those spikes early on, but I thought it was a thing of the past. Is there anything on my side or is it a "Microsoft server" thing? Come here you big, beautiful cup of coffee and lie to me about how much we’re going to get done today.
March 3, 20224 yr I don't think they ever left. Probably an ongoing data cleanup thing. ns Edited March 3, 20224 yr by bean_sprout AMD RYZEN 9 5900X 12 CORE CPU - ZOTAC RTX 3060Ti GPU - NZXT H510i ELITE CASE - EVO M.2 970 500GB DRIVE - 32GB XTREEM 4000 MEM - XPG GOLD 80+ 650 WATT PS - NZXT 280 HYBRID COOLER
March 3, 20224 yr It is the photogrammetry thing. Turn it off and the spikes will go away. You can find these spikes on Google earth as well. Brian Pogorek
March 3, 20224 yr Are you zoomed in on that pic? Looks like the photogrammetry vs the landscape spikes as mentioned above. They don't show high resolution until you are closer and look like spikes/blobs...although it has improved since the earlier versions. March 3, 20224 yr This is reaching. Without knowing the magnification level in the photo, it doesn't mean a lot. Rob (but call me Bob or Rob, I don't mind). March 4, 20224 yr Spike appears some 30 miles south west of Basel in Switzerland. Pretty sure that wasn't there before SU8
March 4, 20224 yr I flew it and then flew towards the spikes and they were buildings. Roy i7-10700 CPU @2.90 GHz, 32 GB Ram, nVadia GTX1660ti, Samsung 1 TB SSD Drive
March 4, 20224 yr Author Yes, the picture I added where from a place in the USA (don't recall exactly where) is zoomed in. But I've seen multiple other example at much closer distance. I'm often flying from runway 36 EFHF, Malmi in Helsinki, and when I'm paning to right I get "Photogrammetry artefacs" amongs the trees that wasn't present there before. I'm curiuos if someone else is getting those artefacts at EFHF, runway 36 and facing to the right. March 4, 20224 yr Spikes never entirely disappeared on my machine. PNG has quite a few for example. Will check EFHF. MSFS 2020 i7-4790k @ 4.4ghz for the moment. Asus z87-k mobo. GTX 1080, 32gb ram. couple of SSDs....Saitek X52
March 4, 20224 yr I checked out EFHF and didn't see anything unusual except lots of snow. 🙂 Roy i7-10700 CPU @2.90 GHz, 32 GB Ram, nVadia GTX1660ti, Samsung 1 TB SSD Drive
March 4, 20224 yr No spikes at EFHF for me. Tried various settings: Terrain level of detail, terrain vector data and photogrammetry on and off, still no spikes. MSFS 2020 i7-4790k @ 4.4ghz for the moment. Asus z87-k mobo. GTX 1080, 32gb ram. couple of SSDs....Saitek X52
March 4, 20224 yr Author Thanks for the feedback. I'll will add a photo of what I see la little later on, I'm not at my MSFS 2020 rig right now. Come here you big, beautiful cup of coffee and lie to me about how much we’re going to get done today.
