Be careful or we may have to start using floppy disks again.

I completely agree with you but I'm hoping to avoid rebuying it hehe.  It might come to that.

Hopefully  you dont  need  to do that  and  get  your issues  resolved.   If  you  do  decide  to buy it  again  purchase  it  thru  steam   seems that steams  users  have  no issues  installing  than  that those  who bought it  thru microsoft store

It's just not my day lol

It seems that I cannot install it while it exists on my old PC... error code: 0x80073CF3

https://support.xbox.com/en-US/help/errors/error-code-0x80073cf3

edit:  I've tried deleting it from my old PC in xbox app.  I logged out of that one as well.  Logged into the xbox app on new PC...same error code!

%^%^*&^%&!  If only I were a smart person who decided to use Steam like I have with most my other software titles...

Here's the pic of my screen as well

If it's any consolation (which I know it isn't because I've gone thru this too) during the recent dev Q/A when this subject was raised all 3 began to look down sheepishly and Martial tried to allude that it's was a Microsoft issue.  All agreed that this REALLY needs to be looked into and CHANGES need to be made.  🤪

Hope ya'll get it sorted real soon.

Alright....we're in business gents!

A user on Discord helped me think through this...  First thing - Windows update didn't download everything.  Did that.  Next, I was able to go on the Windows Store and download "Digital Ownership" and that somehow initialized the Xbox app to download some more files.  After that I still got an error code but this time, upon googling, it showed that the xbox app required another Windows Update (which when I checked - the download had failed for some reason - retried and was a success).  Next I went to Flight Sim app (which was now showing in my Windows Start Menu) and right clicked on that to get advanced options and then performed a reset.  After that I went back to Xbox app and restarted the download and it installed the initial files.  Then I finally double clicked the MSFS icon in my start menu and voila!  I'm seeing the regular old 123-ish GB's of download!!

My gosh they need to figure this word not allowed out.

No addons yet but in this area I more than doubled my FPS.  Naturally GPU limited hehe.... maybe the RTX 40xx series will be the one!
