New Caribbean Airport Release

Meh, these lightly updated 5-year old sceneries from TropicalSim don't look that great for the price if you don't own the first version.

I gotta agree.  TropicalSim is showing its age big time.  I bought a couple of these updated from V4 to V5 versions and struggled to see any difference between the two.

You mean a developer is doing a quick down and dirty upgrade.. In this day and age.  Bless my bloomers.

…a developer who, over the years, has supported our beloved P3D with some great sceneries in fun places to fly.  Now they release a version that they will stand behind for P3D 5 install and general compatibility, and this is what they get?  The usual AvSim bashing and negativity ?  C’mon guys, lets throw something positive out there and show support for devs who have had to figure out the new flightsim landscape.  They realize that putting a huge amount of effort for a v5 update is probably not going to net them a reasonable ROI.

I have really enjoyed T’Sim sceneries over the years, and I really hope they continue their good work and stay profitable, even in these times of change.  Now, off to Aruba.

respectfully,

Have you looked at the difference between the latest V5 version and the V4 version from before that works just fine in V5?  I'm all in favor of supporting p3d investment and have done so extensively.  But it also seems some are doing a very quick update and slapping V5 titles on it and selling it like a big update.  Just saying.

respectfully,

As devs like to say, they aren’t charities. Well, we aren’t donors. They should release products worth buying for the price.

Like an airport not previously done, like KDAL or KDTW for instance.

I'll second KDTW...

The sunskyjet dtw is great. I remember there was a user mod also that fixed a lot of the issues with it.

Not to get too off topic here, I would be interested in that...

I looked at TNCA as I don’t own it. But it’s a tiny airport costing close to 20GBP. I’ll pass. If the price was a bit more reasonable - say 15GBP - I may well go for it.

The fact it’s 2GBP cheaper for MSFS and on sale for almost half price for XP doesn’t sit comfortably with me.

For what it's worth Ray, Tropicalsim frequently posts sales on SimMarket. For example, they are currently offering a 35% discount for all *other* products, including their LPPR '2022' version which came out only 5 months ago. I wouldn't be surprised if TNCA is available at a more appealing price in a few months' time, through one of their frequent sales.
