April 2, 20224 yr I do a lot of flying in Canada and Alaska and its a real shame Asobo arent addressing this, it really spoils the experience when you sometimes cant even see the runway to align with it

April 2, 20224 yr I did most of my RW flying in the 70's out of a small turf field. There was never any snow removal. 🙂 We learned to taxi, land and take off in 2-3 inches of snow as a routine - even deeper on some occasions. One day I did touch-n-gos along with other aircraft while a local girl scout troop rode a horse-drawn sleigh up and down the runway (to the side of us, of course - the turf runway was fairly wide). We would exchange waves each time around. Randall Rocke
April 2, 20224 yr Snow on rural runways is one thing. Coming into KMSP and not being able to even see the runway from the snow cover? If that happens IRL, the runway gets closed until the plows clear it. Ryzen 7 7800X3D/B650 X AX | 5090 | 32gig | Win10 | Pimax Crystal Light
April 2, 20224 yr Would be also nice if they can fix the completley ridiculous icing model they have implemented as well as snow removal. Yesterday after a 7 hour flight from EGLL - CYYZ in the Heavy Division 787 the outside air temp at YYZ was showing as -2 degrees celsius in the sim and on approach the cockpit windows iced over so badly I could not see anything (I have all the icing effects turned off). I had to pause the sim and remove live weather. Come on ASOBO, get your word not allowed together !!! Is there a solution when using live weather? The only thing you can do about this at the moment is to vote on this topic over at the official FS forum: https://forums.flightsimulator.com/t/get-rid-of-the-snow-on-runways-taxiways-aprons-and-roads/339131/78 You just can't use the sim in Canada, Scandinavia, Austria, Switzerland etc for many months and this is super annoying.

Voted. Can't believe there are so few votes. Really makes the sim almost unusable in winter areas. EddieKABQ
April 3, 20224 yr Voted. Yeah this basically makes my local area unflyable for much of winter. Throw in the over-exaggerated icing and I'm stuck flying down south most of the time. Even small airports are going to have regular plows. Here in Buffalo we had 18 inches of snow in 6 hours and the runway never closed. If I recall correctly, one of the items in the release notes for SU9 Beta is that window icing will respect the icing effects selected in settings. IE: If icing is turned off in settings, it should not show icing on the windows. ...jim ASUS Prime Z790-E, Intel i9 13900K, 32Gb DDR5 Ram, Nvidia 3090 24Gb, Samsung 970 EVO Plus 500 GB and 1 TB, Samsung Odyssey G9 Ultrawide 49" G-SYNC Monitor.

I have no problem with snow covered runways in the bush or in rural areas, but more public use and busy airports need to have runways that are cleaned up from snow. In MSFS you dont get this visual cue. We aren't talking about ski/balloon tyre equipped Bush flying we are talking about Runways
