April 17, 20224 yr First of all, absolutely magnificent work on that repaint/livery. It truly is outstanding. But, if I were to download it, you know what would be the first thing I do? Throw all of the textures into Photoshop and reduce their size by 50% for the space savings. On a 1920x1080 monitor, 8K textures are about as necessary as a saddle on a unicorn. I have been completely unable to see any difference in quality in MSFS between 8K textures and 4K textures. It is like the folks who can say they hear the difference between lossless audio and 320kbps MP3s or AAC files. You can't. Unless you are that 1 in a billion person who has maximized hearing that is absolutely perfect for a human and have plenty of experience in what to listen for. So, while WORKING in 8K is a good idea for maximum fidelity and detail and good source material, all of those files should be reduced to 4K before being released to the general public. Just my personal opinion and preference, of course. 😃 flightsim.to - map

April 18, 20224 yr I did a flight with it from LEMD- ENGM with absolutly no affect on performance at all. AMD Ryzen 7 5800x3d, MSI X570 Pro, 32 gb DDR4 3600 ram, Gigabyte 6800 16gb GPU, 1x 2tb Samsung NvMe , 1x 2tb Sabrent NvME, 1x Crucial 4tb Nvme M2 Drive
April 18, 20224 yr I wonder if painters would be able to use decals/vectors more in their liveries. I think that helps with file sizes since it minimises the use of large textures. Of course I have no idea how easy it is to use this new technology since I am certainly no painter. edit - looks like they used some in this livery and the size is still what it is. This must have been a tremendous amount of work. Edited April 18, 20224 yr by suncoastflyer P3Dv4 + XP11 MFS

Same here, I did a longer hop from Goteborg ESGG in Sweden (airport is on flightsim.to) across to Keflavik BIKF in Iceland. Absolutely no fps hit on an older system. Really well done livery. Love the serial numbers written onto the tyres. Won’t notice that usually but it shows the attention to detail from this developer. Also like the dirt and weathering on the aircraft surfaces which is done very well. Some liveries coming out have “scratches” which are so overdone to be a bit ridiculous. April 18, 20224 yr IMHO, a highly detailed livery adds immeasurably to the immersion. I hat blurry textures, or developers who don't care about these things and argue that "nobody looks their anyway." Yeah, I'm looking at you.....(insert developer of your choice here). It's 2022 - we shouldn't be looking at blurry, halfbaked work at all.

Yes, but there's a right way to add detail, and it's not upscaling everything but, instead, add extra geometry using their own dedicated textures, which can have an higher texel density compared to the base layout. While doing this for a repaint is not very feasible, something made from scratch should be made this way, although from a "marketing" point of view, saying "8k textures" sounds more exciting than having to explain the concept of different texel density and how extra work and optimization went into being sure no texture space is wasted where it's not needed. Again, I'm only referring to an hypothetical commercial work, not a free repaint like this. Umberto Colapicchioni http://www.fsdreamteam.com FSDT on Facebook
April 18, 20224 yr Yeah it's beautiful. One reason the file is so big is that there are 2 liveries included. Old and new. There's also files for both the base A320 and the the FBW. Edited April 18, 20224 yr by Tuskin38
