April 19, 20224 yr "Guys, guys, this is not early access. It may look, smell, taste, feel, walk and talk like early access, but it's totally not early access. Trust me you guys!" More reason to wait for this early access period to pass and see if they actually deliver what they plan, or if those plans get changed or delayed or goal posts moved etc. For example, Aerosoft with the CRJ has been waiting for WX radar capabilities for over a year and Asobo is well aware of the need for access from WASM addons, but it does not appear to be a priority. I'd consider weather radar a fairly basic functionality, used a lot in real life, especially with summer coming in the northern hemisphere. So feature-complete is debatable.

The thing is that nearly no developer can realize their promises, especially when they already got the money after intial launch. Only that in this case the "initial launch" goes over 24 weeks, exactly the time frame when the features are to be added. If they don't do anything after the first two months, they'd lose a lot of income due to people not buying the -800 and -900 (not to mention the future releases of the MAX, 777, 747, 7x7 etc.). I think this is a highly transparent approach and I appreciate that. Apart from the WX it's bascially on P3D-feature-level, so it's hardly "early access" like any other game I know. April 19, 20224 yr For its intended audience, it can come as it is, because from what I've read, everyone likes it. April 19, 20224 yr I think I'm just going to wait and see how the early adopter period goes before purchasing their product. I've never owned anything PMDG and I guess I just don't have enough trust to go in at this early adopter stage. Luckily, there are enough nice planes to keep me entertained with more to come in the near future.

I know people are saying there are still some nagging bugs with their MSFS DC6, but from my understanding, they are mostly minor issues and the DC6 flies relatively well in MSFS. I'm sure PMDG will do a relatively good job with the 737 after its release. If the 737 ends up with a set of minor bugs comparable to their DC6 for MSFS, I would be more than satisfied with their 737 for MSFS. i5-12400, RTX 3060 Ti, 32 GB RAM

I note the references to “code improvements” and “code optimisation”. I think the flight model may be an area that needs just a little bit of work still. Yeah, the problem is that designating it “early adopter” - a very nebulous term - means that the company can easily shrug of criticism with a “What did you expect, it’s not finished” response. PMDG make very good ESP platform planes. It’s currently unknown how they’ll fare as an MSFS complex airliner developer. I suspect they’ll make it work as there’s a lot of money in the MSFS platform, but I also remember how their x-plane efforts were abandoned when sales didn’t pan out. I’m also a little surprised by their reference to DCS. DCS early access planes are notorious for taking forever to get finished, as ED constantly jumps ahead to the next income-generating addon rather than completing the current early access release. There’s certainly hints of that type of approach in PMDGs announcement. I was traveling so I missed the stream.. https://www.twitch.tv/theflyingfabio/clip/LovelySmokyCucumberPlanking-Q0YiknxhWT40IBBJ Could've been a bug with the scenery, could have been a bug with the 737. As RSR put it: "We are collecting data on it, because we want to prove it IS our airplane just as much as we want to prove that it ISN'T" Nonetheless, an embarrasing moment and I'm sure one they would have wanted to be without. The fact that Chewwy made 3 successful landings doesn't remove the incident that happened with Fabio. EDIT: Someone beat me to the link sharing. 7950X3D | RTX 4090 | 64GB DDR5
