Fenix: please consider a proper forum

I don't support a Fenix subforum, but I do think perhaps there should be a collected thread for all Fenix tech support issues and maybe another for operational issues (with the aircraft itself).  Merge all new threads that fall into those categories into the "prime" thread until people get the hint.

Thereby creating another Discord-style superthread, where requests for help are missed due to sheer volume of requests all in the same location.

IF the number of threads asking for support keeps up, I think it's a fair action for AVS to take - it's not like it's their product, or they signed up to be Fenix's tech support hub.

Ultimately I think within a couple of weeks it'll hopefully be a nonissue, but I sympathize with people who are annoyed by seeing half the first page for the subforum covered with threads with questions (often repeat ones) about some aspect of the Fenix.

Perhaps a pinned Fenix FAQ thread wouldn't be a bad idea too.

A closed-source proprietary chat application whose conversations cannot be indexed by search engines (and so any information contained within it is invisible to web searches) and that is under the control of a single private company that monitors private conversations and can alter/delete/censor every single thing that was ever posted is the best thing that happened to the internet?

I don't know for how long you've been using the internet, but I would say that virtually any technology that we had before Discord was superior in almost every aspect you can think of (BBS, web-based forums or even IRC).

That is not what I said my man. Discord is not the best thing that happened to the internet.

My goodness... I tried to keep up to date with everything on Discord but it's UTTERLY IMPOSSIBLE. It's a total mess with hundreds of people asking the same things over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over again. It is simply impossible to properly follow a thread. Am I missing something obvious...? Just now I was reading some posts from yesterday and accidently hit a wrong button so I ended up at the end of the list and it's almost impossible to get back to where I was. But that doesn't really matter because trying to read everything is genuinly giving me a headache. How can ANYBODY follow what's being said over there...?! I just don't get it. Why o why do developers choose Discord as their main means of communications with customers? It totally sucks. Big time. I can't post on Discord because I don't want to share my phone number but honestly I don't care anymore because it's utterly useless. I see lots of questions I know the answer to but what use would it be to post it there because it will get lost anyway. It also seems NO ONE IS READING what's being posted because a lot of times already I read a question, I read the answer a few lines below it and a few lines below that someone else asked the very same question. And that's happening all the time. What a mess.

PLEASE Fenix, consider creating an old fashioned forum where you can actually follow what's being said. Discord is one of the worst things that ever happened to internet.

Absolutely agree - thanks for your words. I never dared to write the same scared about beeing blamed by our young fellows.

It is so pointless and unhelpful to pile up endless questions and answers and other irrelevant remarks and feelings in a row instead of using on of the most intelligent inventions of internet times : the forums.Forums are logcally structured and optimal to search for special issues. These dicord chatrooms remind me to the childhood of the internet - they are good for entertainment or a cheap and comfortable way for develpers to be present in the public.

But for means of technical informations and discourse Chatrooms are very useless.

It shows that the developement in the internet not allways increases but sometimes decreases.

It was kinda a joke as such a traditional forum format is still proven to be suitable, easy to read/navigate and quite effective 20+ years later.

Of course some chose to skip the humor and have it land directly into feelings.

I mean no one is trying to replace nor discredit the glory days of IRCs, MUDs, FUDs phpBBs and multi display fat back CRT flight sim setups. Technology has simply advanced over the decades and I'm quite grateful for such🤣😂

Now do this with MSFS2020  You can even keep a screen or two free for a forum.

I still don't understand the argument for Fenix to have their own subforum, because this forum, at this moment has an influx of Fenix posts. If you're not into Fenix, don't click on it. It's not like all these new Fenix posts are somehow stopping other new, unrelated posts from popping up. Is it that you just want to keep the front page devoid of anything mentioning Fenix? Furthermore, there have been like, 4 posts at least, about people asking AVSIM to make a sub, to which they've all been asked and answered. If you don't want to deal with a Fenix post, don't click on it.

Yes but the frequency of the Fenix posts just end up flooding the forum and detract from other posts relevant to MSFS as a whole.  We'll experience the same thing when other high-demand birds get launched from other devs.

Hmmm...   Discord...  The answer is in the meaning of the word.
