Aerosoft Anchorage

Featured Replies

Are the snow effects "basic" (I saw the screenshots, and that's what it looks like), or do they have some variation etc. as FlyTampa Boston?

I thought it was me I noticed MSFS payware airports dont seem to have the same quality P3D versions provided

Although the market must have increased, it seems that there are many developers thinking they can ask any price. FlyTampa pricing is my standard.....

Maybe I missed some things looking briefly while at work but the texturing of the aprons looked almost default; same with the jet ways

I've spent years flying in and out of Anchorage. The jetways actually look pretty good. However, the entire scenery looks like it's missing all of the weathering that happens in Anchorage. It's a fairly harsh environment, and this looks a bit too clean. At the real airport, there's almost like a grayish tint to everything that makes it look worn. I'm not dogging them, just a bit too expensive for what it is -- especially when you have fantastic scenery from FlyTampa (LGAV, KBOS, etc) as well as other Aerosoft products like EBBR. I think if they were to upgrade the textures to the levels mentioned earlier, it'd be well worth it. It looks like they nailed object placement and building shapes, but it's just looks a little too simulator-like, if that makes sense. I agree with your comment about the aprons; winter time in Anchorage is no joke.

They send out fleets of snow plows that all drive in a beautiful formation to keep the taxiways and runways clean.

I'd be shocked if I saw the apron look like what is photographed in anywhere other than the some areas of the ramp. These snow plows do an amazing job, but yes, it's still white, but uneven, icy, patchy...not just solid white. Yeah, that'd def be more work for the dev, but man, would it stand out and give it a lived in feel!

This is Fairbanks for FSX. Now THAT is what the apron and taxiways should look like.

I'm curious--which screenshots look particularly bad? I thought it looked good. Especially the night lighting when compared to bottom-tier devs like JustSim.

It does look good, the dev did nicely. But for nearly $20, it's not the quality I'd expect in FS2020, especially when you consider that KBOS and CYYZ are under the $20 mark with superior texturing. I'm gonna wait on this one till I see a review.

Aerosoft Brussels costs just €2 more than this.
I know which scenery feels like better value.

The prices of MSFS airports keep creeping up and the quality is going down. Not just Aerosoft.

I am seeing the exact same thing. I may be way off base here, but since the high level jets have now been released for MSFS, I imagine many of the folks still using P3D are now gonna make the switch to MSFS. I hope that doesn't give these developers a reason to crank the prices back up. I had assumed that the days of $20+ sceneries were behind us with MSFS. I suppose only time will tell.

FreakyD on flightsim.to had a reasonable version of PANC which I've been using. On my map of added non default scenery the yellow crosses are freeware and red rotors are Asobo bespoke. The ? icons are tiny freeware Iditarod dog sled strips. The other 10 are payware.

Alaska and the European Tyrol are the 2 most scenic regions on Earth and I fly GA 80% of the time there down low to see it better.

I've been waiting for a better Anchorage, and this new version is a must for me.

I found it.  You have to add your key at the bottom of the page in the app for your products.  Thanks!

Interesting. Maybe they change it because when I order something, the order comes up at the top right drop down with all the updates available for any of my airports or add-ons.

Maybe they did.  Upon launching the Aerosoft App I had to upgrade it.  That being said PANC is a must have and glade it's finally released.  I've had it installed in every version of FS I've had going back to FS2k2 (maybe before that). 🙂

Now if only someone would release a good PAJN.  I've seen a version out there but it's been said you have to buy the Alaska mesh to get it (although it's not advertised as such).😐

Alaska mes is worth every penny when bought on sale. ORBX has a sale almost every month.

BTW, There is a freeware airport that is a must have in Kodiak:

Every time I fly to PADQ, I have to take a quick hop to the strip.
