It's sad how some have been spoiled by Flightbeam & FlyTampa. 😀

So some people are "spoiled" because they may not have the same opinion as you? Should we just be grateful for anything thrown our way, regardless of the effort that went into it? I see why they put it on sale right out of the gate.

The A-10s look fine to me not sure why people don't like them. It's a little wonky behind the wing and the 124th jets should have red tails on one side of the ramp and blue tails on the other.  Not sure about yellow tails. I have never seen on with a yellow tail.  Did a google search to confirm.

I think we can all agree the ground textures are very very poor. They would have been better off just using stock photo scenery.

I also now noticed not only are gate C8a and C11 missing but the gate roots going out of the terminal are too high (should be level with the bottom and top of the of the windows that aren't covered and about level with a 737 L1 door)

and the textures on the gates are pretty low res.

Also, the taxi way over to the SkyWest maintenance area is unfinished ground textures.  No edge markers or centerline.

Positive: I did notice that the Runway markings have a realistic reflector sheen on them which is nice.

Overall, it's acceptable, it just isn't great. KBOI is a lot of work modeling and texturing for such a "small" airport.

I swear that looks like P3D freeware in some places, it's that bad. Correct me but this could easily be the worst ORBX airport on MSFS overall.
Unfortunately I was tempted by the initial sale and bought it... stupid me. Until some time ago anything on sale on ORBX was worth it no matter what. Seems like I have to check everything thoroughly these days on ORBX, just like Simmarket. What a shame ORBX has become.

YES!

I have options:

#1 I don't have to buy it.

#2 I can criticize, condemn, and complain about how bad the textures look on sites like AVSIM until it goes on sale for 1/2 the price.

#3 I can say nothing since I have nothing good to say.

Any other options can be added right bellow here.

@DJJose

Jose- I would respectfully say that all I have seen of KBOI has been underwhelming.

I would go further to say I have been surprised by the recent quality of a few Orbx releases… unlike my prior experiences in P3D. They used to stun… now… I will agree the standard has been raised, but like all commercial developers entering the MSFS arena- they must up their game or resort to being a very convenient distribution channel for others.

If they were freeware I would wholeheartedly endorse your position mate and keep my big mouth shut. 🙂

For KBOI, I'd say "yes".  How likely is it some other dev will take up KBOI and give us a top-level mod for it?  Not very likely.  Don't get me wrong, I agree with the things you said about it.

All we can do is hope that Orbx (or the dev) can upgrade it over time.

Got it my brother. I just cheer for airports that are unlikely to be made by other devs and are substantially better than the default.

Speaking of freeware. What do you think of this one?

I’m not trying to be a jerk, and I don’t own this airport. However, I personally don’t find a comment like this to add much value. The idea that an addon must be “all or nothing” may be a bit extreme.

If you look at this screenshots and think that's up to par, and people complaining aren't justified, you are doing the flight sim community a massive disservice.

It looks awesome! Away from the Sim for a week but will get it on my return- thanks for the tip!

I certainly can understand and appreciate your view.

I'd like to spin the question a different way.  Can anybody name any scenery in msfs that's truly amazing?  I can't think of a single one that wasn't also beautiful in p3d.  that's not a knock on msfs.  I'm just saying that I think we saw exponential improvements and many areas comparing msfs to the older p3d.  But airports are not one of them.  To me the best msfs airports are on par with the best p3d airports.

Just looked at their montenegro online.  Looks fantastic.  Especially when combined with the great general scenery of msfs.  But those screenshots of the airport itself do not look like something we could not have had in prepar3d.  And believe me.  Not trying to insult this dev.  They look great.  More to underline my point that we haven't seen a huge shift in scenery development quality.

That's backward thinking. These bad pics should be posted on the ORBX screenshots forum with a note to the developer to fix it. The other option is to send a support ticket with pics. That's much more constructive than expressing the displeasure with pics or simply saying something looks bad without seeing it from a distance.

I think that everything I've ever  purchased looks better in MSFS, hence why I no longer have any other sim on my SSD. From a distance P3D ports look better. Wen we examine closely, that's when it gets blurred.
