June 17, 20223 yr Hi folks, Time to build another PC and I’m just wondering whether the 3090Ti is really worth the eye-watering money over the 3080Ti for the purposes of MSFS and P3D. I have to say, my (doesn’t feel old but have to call it old now I suppose) 1080Ti has been doing jolly well with MSFS really, but will the 3090Ti yield a massive advantage? Am I tragically limiting my new PC by adding the 3080Ti rather than the 90Ti? Thanks folks A

June 17, 20223 yr I recently upgraded from a 1080ti to a 3070ti and I can run MSFS flawlessly with no problems at all. I was debating weather to go for the 3080 and I'm glad I saved the extra cash and stuck with the 3070ti.
June 17, 20223 yr Author I didn’t know the 40** series was coming out fairly soon. Should I just wait and run the new computer with my old 1080Ti until the 4080 releases? Ahhh decisions, decisons. And in computing you buy something that you think is massively hi-tech, and it’s old hat as soon as you’ve clicked it into the motherboard. A

Thanks folks I honestly think your better off waiting for the 4080 lunching in October... be aware these are rumors going around...I haven't seen NVidia announce anything if not I would just go for the 3080ti.. I personally think the 3090 price to performance doesn't do it for me and i would buy it from evga for warranty reasons...good luck and let us know which way you ended up going 🙂 https://videocardz.com/newz/nvidia-geforce-gtx-1630-delayed-rtx-40-series-launch-slips-by-a-month Edited June 18, 20223 yr by Silverbird Cesar Martinez AMD 7800X3D RTX5080 NZXT N7 B650E | G.Skill 32GB DDR5 Samsung 980 Pro 2TB | Crucial MX500 (2×) | Crucial P3 Plus Monitor: Philips Evnia 34M2C6500 QD-OLED

June 18, 20223 yr I've got a 3090 and its massively under utilised in MSFS. Everything is on ultra on my 4K display and I'm still CPU main thread limited with my 5800X. My opinion is at the moment, nothing more than a 3080 is really needed....just my view. Kael Oswald 9950X3D/ 64GB DDR5 6200 @ CL30 / Custom Water Loop / RTX 5090 / 3 x 48" LG C4 OLEDs
June 18, 20223 yr Author Ahh, no idea what to do. I think maybe carry on using my 1080ti until the 40* series comes out. It sounds like the 3080Ti would be more than adequate but I might regret not getting the new model. Choices, choices. Thank you very much for your help though folks. A

Thanks folks the 3090ti is worth it if you use VR, the extra vram will come in handy, otherwise the 3080ti is a good choice. The rtx4000 series is upcoming however there are rumors it maybe delayed until the fall, and who knows if you will even be able to get one when they come out.
