With all due respect I have very little faith personally in anything Jorg says actually having been understood by him.

The man contracted a studio to deliver to him a study level plane (of which an XP version exists and can be examined) and the studio already stated this will even be improved upon.

You're seeing ghosts.

Laminar Research customer -- Asobo/MS customer -- not an X-Aviation customer - or am I? 😉

Folks, it has already been confirmed that the systems of the MSFS version will not only be on par with the XP11 version, but will be an improved version of them, as they have been reworked. So, unless someone brings any statement made by some iniBuilds dev that implies the opposite of this, I consider this 'dumb down' theory debunked.

Honestly, I don't think the fact that default airplanes are 'dumb down' is a way for MS/Asobo to please casual gamers or that they have an eagerness to please these people. To me, they are like that because of money and effort. Can you imagine how much MSFS would cost if all default aircraft had a high level of complexity? Plus all the effort it would take to get them all at that level? Effort that would be taken from the development of the simulator's core elements, which are much more important than aircraft.

And it is also important to clarify that this aircraft is being developed by iniBuilds and not by Asobo. The fact that Microsoft licenses this aircraft and will bring it to MSFS for free is a golden opportunity to finally bring something highly complex to the simulator at no additional cost and please experienced simmers who want something complex and realistic. They would have to be extremely stupid to want a dumb down version and I doubt that iniBuilds would accept to tarnish their reputation with such a version.

I hope you are correct but ultimately MS are paying the money and I don't trust then enough right now to automatically believe that will be the case.

I don't have any fears about ini not trying to deliver something as sophisticated as they possibly can, just that MS might not be aware of quite what that means they will be getting.

Microsoft aren't developing a flight simulator for the first time and there are enough sophisticated aircraft addons out there by now for anyone to see what that means. Do you think Microsoft include a third party product as part of their own product and probably pay a fee for that too without fully knowing what it actually is? They know exactly what the inibuilds A310 or any other sophisticated aircraft addon is and to what depths these are simulated.

We're incredibly aware. 😉

looking forward to this aicraft coming to all MSFS users in November.

From watching all the Dev Q&A and putting 2 and 2 together, this project came imho into fruition because the FBW was no longer an option for the Marketplace and Jörg wanted to have a study level airliner availsble to everyone.

Awrsome that they found a way 👍

I think a reason for this is because Jorg wants to pull some of the remaining X-Plane users to MSFS.  iniBuilds is a well known X-Plane developer, Jorg knows this, and securing a partnership with iniBuilds is a great way to get the attention of the holdout X-Plane users.  The timing of the iniBuilds A310 also lines up very well for the 40th anniversary edition of MSFS.

Are ini a big enough name in XP to bring people over who aren't already running both XP and MSFS ?

I’d actually say yes. That’s a respected plane and one that is only available in the xp platform.

Latest July 2022 development update from iniBuilds: https://forum.inibuilds.com/topic/5207-inibuilds-development-update-july-2022/

"Development is going very well, and the last post focused a lot on the exterior. Today, I am pleased to show you some elements of the  beautiful cockpit that will be coming with this aircraft.A lot of the elements are complete, with final refinements being conducted and you can also see some of the features coming into the EFB. As mentioned in our last post, we will provide a comprehensive training guide on the operation of the aircraft and how all the systems can be used. Please note this is not a modern Airbus so there are some quirks and they have been fully reflected in the aircraft to provide a great deal of immersion, and these will all be explained in our training series!"

First ever interior cockpit shots I believe... do I see windshield wiper streaks there? 🙂

"We have some other items we have not revealed yet, that we will show next month, but for now I leave you with two more fantastic exterior shots."

I'm so ready to binge watch an entire A310 training series on youtube.

Hopefully it will be possible to add a lot of those old liveries to the iniBuilds A310 and using it for VATSIM model matching.

Shouldn't be a problem, unless there are like 50 of them departing Heathrow at the same time, I guess?

That cockpit looks amazing
