But that's something to keep in mind before going for a curved screen. I'm also one of the few here who are not so convinced as most others. My 32" curved Monitor with 1440p is not bad at all. But I cannot see any advantages from being curved. Maybe it has something to do with wearing glasses while sitting in front of it. So, no special peripheral vision improvement for me... July 15, 20223 yr Commercial Member I have had my eye on the Samsung 49" mini-LED but I have a question for those who have these large wide-screen displays. I currently have 3-27" displays where I have the right display switchable among two pc's. Are the new displays capable to switch among two PC's as well? Sort of a picture-n-picture like some TV displays have? July 15, 20223 yr Very happy with my gigabyte 32 inch 2k screen so far. However as I upgraded from an old 1080 24 inch flat screen, it was always going to be much better. Personally, I think the curved screen gives me a little more immersion. July 16, 20223 yr I prefer the curved screen primarily because it somewhat matches cockpit geometry a little better. I also tip the screen so that it is sloped away from me as a windscreen would be. July 16, 20223 yr I used a 27" monitor before (Samsung CHG70) and the curve always seemed excessive to me, or even useless... On the current 34", sitting at the same distance (about 60 cm), it makes much more sense and I find it comfortable. When I look at the old 27" now (my wife is using it for work) the curvature really seems pointless. On the other hand I have a flat 55" TV and sitting at 3-4 m distance, I am glad it's not curved. In short, I believe it depends on size and distance. Edited July 16, 20223 yr by MrFuzzy 7800X3D | 2x32 GB DDR5-6000 CL32 | RTX 5080 | Alienware OLED 34" | 1 Gbps fiber

It's like saying to someone who likes strawberries that they're useless because you don't see the point. July 17, 20223 yr Author My new computer that I'll be using for MSFS arrived yesterday so I guess I'll need to make my mind up soon to either get a new flat screen or curved screen. From most of the answers I see that those who do have curved screens seem to really like them with the exception of a few. Which ever screen I decide on will be in the 32" thru 35" wide screen size. Probably boils down to personal preference. Any other sim pilots have any more advice on this subject? Regards Lamar Wright

July 17, 20223 yr When I un boxed my G7 Samsung with its huge curve, I could not get past looking at the curve you see at the top and bottom of the screen and thought I was going to send it back. So I do understand completely why looking at the screen at first can be very off putting. But….and a big BUT… What a mistake that would have been, after a day or two you’re brain gets use to it. I took my old 27” flat Samsung to work and now HATE even looking at it. The G7 32” is so good and I don’t even see the curve anymore and like I said flat screen look terrible now. It does not bend the VC at all, it’s just the screen wraps around you view. It does not distort the VC in anyway. The bottom of my view in the PMDG is the bottom of the the line that runs perfectly along the bottom of the screen. So to sum up the G7 has a huge curve and it’s very strange for the first day or two. But after that there’s no going back to flat screens. It’s Stunning and so much easier on the eyes and the picture quality is beautiful. When I get home from work and switch on the G7 I always think “ now that’s how a screen should look” . July 17, 20223 yr I had a 40inch curved Philips monitor (high end, 3000R ) Quickly swapped it for a smaller flat panel. Distorted geometry, almost fish eye-lense phenomenon. As a rw pilot, that Go-Pro effect turned me off big time, huge lack of "immersion". No thanks. EASA PPL SEPL + NQ / CB-IR in progress MSFS24 | X-Plane 12
