Windows 11 downgrade to Windows 10

Featured Replies

Just wanted to report my experiences: had heavy stuttering in SU10 beta 3 and beyond. On Windows 11. Tried for about 5 weeks all kind of settings and tweaks. Did full clean install of Windows 11 and the sim. No effect. Finally made decision today to go back to Windows 10.

And.. I got my sim back! Smooth 60 fps in 2D 4K on ULTRA. And smooth almost without stuttering in Reverb G2.

So: allways consider downgrading to Windows 10 in case of performance issues.

Hi Rene,

Thanks for reporting this issue here.  Since you are running an SU10 Beta, please report this to ASOBO/Microsoft's bug reporting, complete with your specs and Windows 11 version.  Windows 10 is on its way out and newer computers are coming with Windows 11, so downgrading is not a practical solution.

Gee, I think moving to W10 is an upgrade.😉

I forgot to mention: today I installed Windows 10, but the sim is still SU9. Of course my latest clean install was Windows 11 clean, and also Sim clean SU9 install (I did not dare SU10beta again).

One can call my suggestion nonsense... I just report my own experience, every PC is not the same, etc etc.  Just to consider for simmers in maybe the same situation. As a last option, as it was for me.

I know Windows 10 will be phased out, but will have support until 2025. And at some point before that I may also myself go back\forward? to Windows 11. After all: before SU10beta 3  my sim was butter smooth in Windows 11 Insider with all advantages of DLSS working for me quite well.

And of course I dont have a clue why that would result in even a clean installation not functioning (for me!).

Whenever I get stutters, I buy a new PC.

Well Mr. Pigeon, I am glad I did not have to do that (again already) 😉

🤣😂OS has nothing to do with stutters in a flight sim or any other game/simulation👍

I know. That is why installing Windows 10 did not work for me. Oh.... it did. I dont mind.. If there is only one in the sim community for whom it works, I am glad it is me , n=1 experiment.

My n=1 experiment was:

install everything clean on Windows 11 - did not help.

repeat exactly the same in Windows 10 - it helps.

Now of course to be a bit more scientific I would have to repeat this , well, my statistic lessons are long ago, but I would say, maybe 30 times? to get statistical significant results. But I leave it as it is now.

That is a totally fair and balanced statement! Hang in there.  Each of us have been there at least once during this great flight sim endeavor!

I was thinking about that, and you know what?

You are right!

Because: I always learnt: if no logical solutions works, try the illogical ones. So I did, I tried the nonsense solution et voila, it worked (for me).

So I refrase my suggestion: let no one try my "solution"

It only worked for me 😉

Here I have 2 MSFS pc’s : one with W10 and the other with W11

Imho W11 is slightly faster but W10 is also very good. I will upgrade the W10 pc to W11 as I want a stable OS and preferable the newest.

Now why would anyone do that?  Totally modify a statement of another user by omitting some of what he wrote?  Why did you quote part of his statement but clearly omit another key part?  We have way too much of that going on in this world right now.  Get it out of here!
