So we all got het-up in this thread based on supposition and baseless rumour. 😄
Good to see social media performing its usual 'force-for-good'...

I think most people would be happy with that. It's the 'Don't change or touch anything' crowd vs. 'Don't leave it like it currently is' crowd.
A slider setting that allows for both options and a range in between, would mean no group is faced with an unsatisfying fait accompli.

It's literally in the very first post of this thread. I clearly stated it:

Quote

737 NG Driver said that Asobo may dumb down the gusts again, because many "simmers" and not real life pilots, have complained that it's too hard to fly in SU 10 now.

In any case, it doesn't hurt to send a message to Asobo that we want to keep the gusts. Just vote on the poll, and the message will be sent (the poll currently stands at 98% like the gusts, 2% don't like it).

From my memory, Asobo did tone down either the gust or turbulence before, because of a lot of complaints. Let's not let history repeat itself.

I was about to say that. 11 pages discussing an unsubstantiated rumor from a random youtuber...

737 NG Driver is not a "random youtuber." He has quite a large following in the flight sim community and he is also on the PMDG testing team.  If anything, 737 NG Driver has a very good reputation.

Whats up with this growing group of avsim members questioning everyone who says they fly transport category jets for a living?

FAA: ATP-ME, 737 CA, enough time in the 757/767 to be dangerous 🤠

I see you have the good old Poo-Brown one😎

Internet Forums have always been a haven for fakes and sciolists, flight-sim forums probably more than most.

Accept that and move on, its getting silly

So two days in row I fly MSFS with live weather on and in areas where no gusts are present. I'm flying in smooth air no turbulence no gusts. What is all fuss about? You you fly to airport with 22kts direct crosswind in 172 I won't be able land even in real life. Find another runway or fly to alternate. Or turn on off live weather and revert t perfect weather conditions. It's not unheard of for part 121 driver go alternate when wind within maximum demonstrated component . PIC renders if landing if safe or not not airframe capabilities.

Many of the people asking for a slider  have probably never been in a small aircraft.

I don't have a pilot license! So what? 🙂

Every AAA video game has various levels of difficulties: from easy to nightmare - Asobo should implement this across the sim, include turbulence, gusts, and what not, so everyone can sim at the level they want to. No more bickering. Everyone is happy. Case closed.

I really don't mind if there's a slider for turbulence and gusts. I just don't want these to be globally reduced. Having options is fine though - everybody will be happy.

That's actually not a bad idea.
