WU Canada is out

Surely Asobo would not release it with these glaring errors.

Have you met Asobo? 😄 SU7 was released and it was a complete shambles for VR and TrackIR users, UK WU Dover Cliffs lod was initially broken on release so it "popped" into view up close (same with Devils Tower after the first USA WU, you had to practically be on top of the thing before it was viewable).

So yes, they could well release with glaring issues as they have history in this department 😞

Pico Neo3 Link VR - Windows 11 64bit, Gigabyte Z590 Aorus Elite Mobo, i7-10700KF CPU, Gigabyte RX 9070 XT OC 16gb (AMD GPU), 32gig Corsair 3600mhz RAM, SSD x2 + M.2 SSD 1tb x1

Saitek X45 HOTAS - Saitek Pro Rudder Pedals - Logitech Flight Yoke - Homemade 3 Button & 8-directional Joystick Box, SNES Controller (used as a Button Box - Additional USB Numpad (used as a Button Box)

Are you saying if I don't agree with you then I'm wrong?

Like I mentioned, the elevation data is excellent in places. I haven't seen any terrain morphing. This is west of Edmonton.

certainly not, just providing evidence that Asobo have released WU (and SU) updates in the past with "glaring errors" so it can be expected that they've done the same with this WU 🙂

Hi. Thanks for uploading your screenshot.  As I suspected, you're not using the photogrammetry from the Canada World Update for Granville Bridge.  I uninstalled the Canada World Update and I get the same Granville Bridge as you do in your uploaded picture (for your uploaded picture at https://imgur.com/a/zQ5SUIo, Granville Bridge is the top photo):

If you are using photogrammetry from the Canada World Update, Granville bridge looks like this:

Also, the apartment complex on the bottom right side of Granville bridge right beside the water and boats is called "Silver Sea."  The new photogrammetry for "Silver Sea" is in my photo with the melted version of Granville bridge.  If you are not using the Canada World Update, you are using the old photogrammetry for "Silver Sea."  FYI, "Silver Sea" in real life looks like this:

Fogo island inn has been modeled. Probably the most out of this world hotel in Canada. With associated out of this world pricing at 2500$ to 5000$ per night and minimum of three night….

The island visit in MSFS will be more affordable…

I guess I don't understand something then. I downloaded and installed the Canada World Update.  I have Photogrammetry turned on.  Then why would I not get everything you are getting?

I  just went to Content Manager and there's nothing to install, yet the Canada is not listed under installed.  All the other World Updates are listed.  I installed this one just like the previous ones.

Please explain.

Hmm, I don't know.  This is something puzzling. I deleted my rolling cache, and then recreated my rolling cache, before I used the Canada World Update. I am also not using any manual cache either.

I don't use rolling cache.  It's turned off.  I guess I should be thankful that I'm not having these problems.  At least I learned how to post pictures, although mine shows the ingur background.instead of just the screenshot.

Thanks for your help.

Just discovered something that may be my problem.  When it came out, I downloaded and installed it when it came up as I was starting the sim. I then downloaded and installed the the sim and it continued to open.

I just checked the Marketplace and all the other World Updates show Owned.  Canada says Free, which leads me to believe that it didn't update, and why it's not listed in Content Manager.

So, bottom line, it appears I'm still running the original default version. I have also noticed that when I open the sim, the portion that shows all the splash screens remains dark.  Only on one instance has  the Canada splash screens shown up.  This morning's startup everything was black.

Now I'm hesitant to install it with all the problems people are having.

IMO, as a Vancouverite, you're better off keeping Canada World Update uninstalled, if you fly around the metro Vancouver area. It just makes metro Vancouver worse.

I highly recommend the tree size mod that @Fielder mentioned. This is with all tree sizes reduced to 1/3 of default:

Here's the file 10-asobo_species.xml that can be used either with the mod, or just overwrite the one in the Official folder.

No need to uninstall the whole WU though, should be enough to just delete the small PG file to prevent the updated PG from being streamed.

You don't need to keep the entire world update uninstalled, you can delete just the photogrammetry from the content manager.

Edit: Beaten by the good Captain Piett.
