Texture problems since SU10 and DX12

Featured Replies

Just curious if anyone else are having ground texture problems at airports since SU10 and using DX12? Below is an image (not mine) of what I'm talking about:

I get it randomly every since SU10. Sometimes it only affects a small piece of a taxiway, sometimes it can affect the majority of the airport and it seems very random when it happens or not. It's like the underlying satellite photo shows instead of the correct texture. There's a bug thread about the issue at https://forums.flightsimulator.com/t/mixed-textures-in-ground-at-default-airport/534963 that was started back in August and the issues since SU10 have been merged into it and it's took off with other's having the issue. Just hadn't seen any mention of it here and wondered if anyone here was experiencing it too?

Are you using NVIDIA DLSS in Anti-Aliasing settings?

No, TAA. DX12 at 2560x1440, Win 10, 32GB ram, i7-7700K, 3080 12GB card on the lastest two nVidia drivers.

yep I have the same problem in DX12. I keep developer mode open, then under airports select debug and deselect debug voila textures back. but it will happen again.

It’s not consistent and doesn’t happen all the time. When it does happen, then it happens at different taxiways, parking areas from one time to the next. When I use the drone to move around the problems pop in and out.

Here’s a screenshot I just took of the problem. Sometimes it’s fewer areas, sometimes it’s more and sometimes it doesn’t happen at all. In this screenshot, you can see the baked in planes from the satellite image and two planes actually from the game.

Yes I had this too. That's why I reverted back to DX11.

That's what I'm doing for now.

I also have the same problem. it happens to me very often, I just added my vote on the MSFS forum, hoping that this problem will be solved. DX12 / TAA

Same issue here and have also reverted back to DX11, though have noticed that it is not as smooth as DX12 now and slightly lower framerates.

This occurs using both DLSS and TAA btw.

ASOBO will be working on improving DX12, I'm sure and it will in time be the best way to sim. I am confident of that.

Ryzen 5800X3D, Nvidia RTX5080 - 32 Gig DDR4 RAM, 1TB & 2 TB NVME drives - Windows 11 64 bit MSFS 2024 Premium Deluxe Edition Resolution 2560 x 1440 (32 inch curved monitor)

I had this too with in SU10, with both DLSS and TAA. Didn't see it with SU11 beta and the new Nvidia driver, but also didn't test DX12 long enough because I went back do DX11 for performance reasons (have better FPS in DX11 and the fluidity is the same).

Please, anyone who's had this issue do the same, even if you reverted back to DX11.

Have it and voted

Had it since SU10  Beta when running DX12, reverted back to DX11 and it's fine. I made quite a detailed post over on the the MSFS forum telling them about the issue, and there were quite a few others seeing the same. Well SU10 dropped about 5wks later, and i was disappointed to see no fix for it, despite the time it was reported. Then to find it was not even mentioned in the notes.

I asked on the forum not long after, and just got the reply they were aware.

Even in Beta11 i am still seeing the same,  I would advise as many as possibly with the issue please report it, otherwise yet again it wont be fixed for SU11

AMD Ryzen 7 5800x3d, MSI X570 Pro, 32 gb DDR4 3600 ram, Gigabyte 6800 16gb GPU, 1x 2tb Samsung  NvMe , 1x 2tb Sabrent NvME, 1x Crucial 4tb Nvme M2 Drive

I get it as well with DX12 ever since day one of the SU10 beta. However, the Nvidia driver that just dropped this week may help fix it - while I haven't poured a ton of time into testing, it has not happened yet at ini's LAX and SAT, which is where I could get it to trigger frequently. Could very easily be a coincidence but I'm interested in seeing if other users with this issue see an improvement.

Same here, had this already pre-SU10... another bug being ignored by the devs, like the bugged snow coverage...
