Looking at all the benchmarks coming out for the 13900K, it wipes the floor against the 7950X. Even with MSFS it gets a noticeable fps increase.

For those of us running triple 4K monitors, this paired with the 4090 could be a lifesaver!

I'm so glad AMD upped its game over the last 10 years or Intel would probably still be asleep at the wheel.  How does that saying go?  You can only poke the bear for so long.

the 5800x3d still has better perf then the 13900, what are you talking about AMD is RIP??

Just clickbaity articles and videos for monetisation and Intel überfans.

The 5800X3D is a truly fantastic CPU given that in spite of its lower clockspeed and lower TDP, it is not beaten on average FPS by the latest generation CPUs.
There will come a time when the 5800X3D is surpassed in performance in a flight sim. I think that won't happen until the 7800X3D and 7950X3D are released.

At least the flight simmers using latest gen tech won't have to turn on the heating in their homes. Their CPUs will do the job for them. 😁

I was going to ask. I am starting a new build soon and was wondering if I should wait or just go for the 5800x3d.

Also, isn't there an issue with Windows11, AMD's 7xxx series and SMT degrading performance? See

At HD, I agree, the Ryzen wiped the floor, but at 4K, the 5800X3D barely edged out the 12900KS. So before you dismiss the 13900, figure out what you'll be running. My bet is at 4K or VR, the 13900 will dominate.

Will be interesting to see somebody compare the 13900k vs 5800X3D in some benchmarks .  If 13900k surpasses the 5800X3D I still think it will be short-lived.  Then the 7 series X3D.

You should also take account of frame time Intel is slightly faster than AMD, the time taken to load each frame lower is better.

You might want to look at AM5, as that platform will be around for years. It is the 7000 series CPUs. The 5000 series CPUs are AM4, so the time to build a system around that motherboard has passed. Jmho.
