October 26, 20223 yr Author Initial impressions are really good. They did modify some cloud and HDR shaders as they were being updated during the download. And as expected, I am seeing improved cloud shapes and better lighting. Also wing flex is fixed now. October 26, 20223 yr I wonder why they often don't mention visual changes in the beta release notes. "Society has become so fake that the truth actually bothers people".
October 26, 20223 yr Some of it would certainly get repetitive in the release notes (clouds were tweaked. again.). Or maybe Jennifer is up to eyeballs in other things? Also have noticed fewer technical details in Ben's posts over the past years. Friendly reminder: WHITELIST AVSIM IN YOUR AD-BLOCKER. Especially if you're on a modern CPU that can run a flight simulator well. These web servers aren't free...
October 26, 20223 yr Author Clouds have improved. Also noticing a lot of variety in shapes. Shimmering is completely gone. Good job Team Laminar ! Baber My Youtube Channel http://www.youtube.com/user/HDOnlive

October 26, 20223 yr I didn't experience shimmering since at least 1,5hr. Like the new sky rendering a LOT! Smmoth as silk with the full SimHeaven X_WORLD series, now also Africa and Oceania. October 27, 20223 yr I have to say the latest update does improve the visuals and I am getting better clarity and performance on the ground in normal 3D mode. VR, however is still not great but I am sure it will get better with further updates. I will just keep downloading the updates for now. October 27, 20223 yr Moderator Is it the placebo effect maybe? I'm not seeing much difference in clouds or visuals in Beta 9 and don't see anything listed in the changelog. Not to say others aren't seeing anything, my machine isn't the fastest out there
October 27, 20223 yr The clouds still look very basic IMO. As in really basic. Prepared to wait this one out. And it could be a long one. Sorry, the XP budget money ain't going anywhere. http://youtube.com/c/Greazer

Sorry, the XP budget money ain't going anywhere. They're not that bad Greazer. Under some circumstances and mixed with the new lighting I can even like it more than in MFS 🙂 But I agree that those "blocky" shapes for mid / high level convective clouds look weird....
