Going to pick it up at the end of the day. Tomorrow I have a day off so I can install the cpu , set the bios and test MSFS. My left view client has a 8700k@5 GHz / 4090 / 32 Gb 3200 cas 14. Only when banking and the horizon goes up/down fast I can see small stutters . Otherwise it is smooth. Vsync 50% / 60hertz …. Don’t know if those small stutters are caused by WidevieW or if the pc is not strong enough. MSFS : GPU always green. CPU always yellow… 5950x3d 5.4-5.7 GHz - Asus ROG 870 Crosshair Apex - GSkill Neo 2x 24 Gb 6000 mhz / cas 26 - MSI RTX 5090 Gaming Trio OC - 1x SSD M2 6000 2TB - 1x SSD M2 2800/1800 1Tb - Corsair 5400 case - Corsair 360 liquid cooling set - 3x 75’ TCL tv. 13600 6 cores @ 5.1 GHz / 8 cores @ 4.0 GHz (hypterthreading on) - Asus ROG Strix Gaming D - GSkill Trident 4x Gb 3200 MHz cas 15 - Asus TUF RTX 4080 16 Gb - 1x SSD M2 2800/1800 2TB - 2x Sata 600 SSD 500 Mb - Corsair D4000 Airflow case - NXT Krajen Z63 AIO liquide cooling - FOV : 200 degrees My flightsim vids : https://www.youtube.com/user/fswidesim/videos?shelf_id=0&sort=dd&view=0

November 1, 20223 yr I have just never been a fan of ryzen, regardless of performance. Intel and nvidia together just feel quicker to me outside a select few games. I haven't bought a high tier cpu in the last couple cycles because of cost and heat anyway. Just my opinion.
November 1, 20223 yr The Intel is a waste of electricity, but it is faster in most games, but in MSFS who knows, since there are no valid benchmarks. BTW, Intel in the past has been caught several times paying out Youtubers to tweak the FPS results in their benchmarks, or to provide more favorable results. I would not be surprised if AMD has pulled similar stunts. Beyond that, there are tons of fake FPS measurements online, and the ones that are accurate are often not done correctly, because it's difficult to compare 2 separate PC's FPS and just attribute it ONLY to the CPU difference. Hmm, it's difficult with these benchmarks. I tend to trust Gamers Nexus and Hardware Unboxed. And Paul's hardware. And perhaps Jayz 🙂 EDIT: But there's not that many MSFS benchmarks around. Perhaps we should make our own benchmarks... CapFrameX is a great tool. Edited November 1, 20223 yr by Cpt_Piett 7950X3D | RTX 4090 | 64GB DDR5

The game runs fine for me, the only thing I really need to speed up is my dev mode compilations, which I don't think the AMD 5800x3D is going to help, so I'll probably wait for the 7800x3D to get a bit of a boost in both situations. I sometimes have to wait 30+ seconds for compiling an airport (annoying), it's a materials bug in the compiler with custom materials. It's fast until you add custom materials. I do want to try one of those newer AMD GPU's though, but I'm not sure I can get my hands on one. My biggest issue is also Ebay'n the old GPU (kind of scary). If I can convince myself to Ebay the rtx3080, I may buy the 7900xt, but that is a LOT of "ifs". Edited November 1, 20223 yr by Alpine Scenery AMD 5800x | Nvidia 3080 (12gb) | 64gb ram

I don't know if Eurogamer is a reliable benchmark site or not, but the real-time synced comparisons look reasonable when comparing other CPU's. It matters to me as I am planning a new build. I saw that as well but someone on the MS forums mentioned that the 5800x3D is the same FPS graph from April. The sim changed a lot since SU10 in those CPU situations, so it might not be accurate to test the 13900k in SU10 and the 5800x3D in say, SU8. If anyone wants to work together to benchmark I’ll be happy to do a few CapFrameX recordings. I have a 5800x3D/4090, a fenix, some addon airports and I own nothing from the marketplace so my community folder can be empty fast.

Gerard just got a 13900KF I believe. We just have to agree on some standardized test settings. 7950X3D | RTX 4090 | 64GB DDR5
