The flickering doesn't really disturb me... I am too concentrated in testing how nice even some WW2 aircraft ported from freeware versions, all available through the ".Org", behave, sometimes revealling characteristics I was only able to find in DCS or IL2...

I noticed some positive changes in the ATC with beta13,  better interaction, more coherent and well formed responses / directives from ATC agents - default ATC in XP12 is shaping up well !

I also find sky rendering growing better from beta to beta.

I got an additional 140+ GB free in my sim disk ( 😉 ), so, I went ahead and used the installer to create a 2nd install of XP12 so that now I can apply beta updates and stiill keep the previous version for reference - and now I can also uninstall XP12 twice in a row 🤣...

Also pushed those gorgeous SimHeaven X-World enhancements into the Costum Scenery folder - am going to make a new donation to that guy because just like in XP11 times he has - again ! - made me smile when I load an approach into Lisbon 🙂

XP12 is a superb platform, and I am very glad and grateful to Austin and LR for having been able to get our hands in it, even in beta and with the necessary bugs and unpolished features, because it's really enjoyable even as a beta release.

I often read Ralf's ( @Ralf Maylin) private messages with attached screenshots of his really enchanting flights in the CL650 or, now, the Phenom 300 too !  Ralf built a new rig for XP12, and he is able to get outstanding performance !

Very true !  But I offered him 12,000 million euros, yet, he refused saying he couldn't find a way to edit the mesh of the terrain he would build his mansion in XP, so, no use for the money 😕

For 12000 million, I'll write you an app that automatically uninstalls and switches sims each week, saving you time :-)

Best build so far. FPS exploding.

Sounds good. I haven't downloaded it yet - could you estimate the increase in percent?

Is this a screenshot from the current Beta?

Beta 13..still flickering, bad AA on runway lines, shimmering on reflective surfaces, fps drop as well.

Yes, Beta13 on my pc.
This graphic mess is called "magenta bug", it is a bug that mainly affects Nvidia 9xx series cards and some ATI cards.
This bug was already in XP12 beta1, and today after 2 months it still hasn't been fixed.
In my opinion they will never fix it.

When I first tested beta5 w/ my old 980ti, the entire screen was magenta. A few days ago, beta12 didn't show any magenta at all. I'd call that progress. They'll get there.

Friendly reminder: WHITELIST AVSIM IN YOUR AD-BLOCKER. Especially if you're on a modern CPU that can run a flight simulator well. These web servers aren't free...

I built a new PC last year for MFS.

It turned out to become my XP12 PC, and since yesterday I decided to concentrate solely in XP12 and every now and then in IL-2.

XP12 was released this year, with the Nvidia 3k and now even 4k series being the new standard, so, I can't really blame LR for not making this new version of the sim compatible with older GPUs.

@efis007 is using a 2B card. Heck! I wouldn't even believe XP12 would run in such a GPU at all?

Long press Shift+L and/or Shift+K, you will see the magenta bug appear.
Currently no progress has been made to fix the issue.

Really Beta 13? -> See here.

The magenta bug is always the same.
If I show you another magenta pic do you think it's more beautiful? 😄
I have show a old pic simply to underline the presence of the bug also in beta13!

However if you like to see "differentiated" magenta pics.... that's fine:
This is the beta 13 magenta bug.

Interesting pics, you can see it appears to only affect transparent / semi-transparent surfaces (engine exhaust, windows, exterior light covers and panel display glass).

At least that should help them narrow it down.   If that is always the case.

The minimum requirements report 2gb Vram and Nvidia 9xx series compatible.
https://www.x-plane.com/kb/x-plane-12-system-requirements/

On the official site there are no reports of incompatibility of these cards and/or magenta bugs caused by these cards.
It's a proprietary bug of XP12, not of the card.

I don't expect the magenta bug to be fixed (in my opinion they will never fix it). 🖐️
But out of respect for the customers I at least expect the Laminar team to update the "minimum tech specs" in homepage, and officially declare XP12 incompatible with Nvidia 9xx cards.
Currently, however, the Nvidia 9xx series are declared full compatible.
But this is not true, we have (since 2 months) the magenta bug with these cards.
