We Now Have 4 "Study Level" Biz Jets!

Featured Replies

1. The Citation Longitude
2. The H-Jet (new and improved version of vnav coming soon)
3. The Vision Jet
4. The Citation CJ4

This must be a first for MSFS

From long-range to medium range - the sim has got you covered.

The improved Longitude is not officially out yet.  For the time period (FS9, FSX) Eaglesoft and Carenado were decent in their day (I know some are going to crucify me for saying this namely Ricardo41😜).  What's needed now is Study Level long range Business Jets which we haven't seen in any version of FS outside the PMDG BBJ.  That will be the turning point.

I wouldn’t call any of them study level yet, though the Longitude and CJ4 get closest

I had to study to figure the CJ4 out. That makes it study level to me.

The Falcon 8X coming for XP12 will be very nice. But yes a nice Falcon or Gulfstream for MSFS is needed!

A common mistake that people make when trying to design something completely foolproof is to underestimate the ingenuity of complete fools.

I think it's safe to say the CJ4 and Longitude now qualify as the two of the most high fidelity business jets ever included as *default* in a sim, and are a perfect complement to the default high fidelity wide-body A310 (don't think that any other default aircraft in any sims even come close to these three's level of fidelity)... they both certainly win handily in the bang-for-buck category compared to 3rd-party payware biz jets, and fidelity wise more than hold their own amongst the best 3rd party biz jets out there IMHO.

Well, you'd be looking at those:

Bombardier Global 7500 – range 7,700 nm.

Gulfstream G650ER – range 7,500 nm.

Dassault Falcon 8X – range 6,450 nm.

I'd put the likelihood at any of these coming out in the same ballpark as the likelihood that the text message I just got is from Kylie Jenner.😄

Seen that, am hopeful too, but with Aerosoft as the publisher, I don't have the highest hopes...

Might as well post this here (probably again) in case folks haven't seen this:

I have to say I was super skeptical when the HJet was announced. Thought that this was just going to piggyback on the WT g3000 mod with a pretty exterior.

But this developer really knocked it out of the park.

How come Gulfstream has resisted having their aircraft appear in flight sims? Is it their proprietary avionics or "just because"? I remember for a long time Porsche would not let their car's likeness or anything be used in racing sims/games but they changed their thinking. With the clammer for long range bizjets and the general cachet of Gulfstream, I would think they would be a popular item in flight simmer's hangers.

Because of Gulfstream's obstinance, I have decided to boycott any purchase of real-world Gulfstream jets in 2023. I had previously planned to buy six.

I'm happy to join your boycott. The fact that I couldn't even afford the most knackered old Cessna 152 is neither here nor there...
