Longitude after Wednesday's AAU beta update

Featured Replies

It seems that in order to pane the displays, i.e., use the little toggle button on the bottom right of the GTCs, you will need to use lock mode interaction.....

I’m not sure if anyone else is experiencing this, but when coming in for landing, if both wheels aren’t perfectly placed on the ground at the same time, it responds very strangely. The nose drops and veers and it feels like the tail comes up. It’s almost uncontrollable. You basically have to grease every landing or crazy stuff happens.

I've probably has that twice (in about 20 flights in the AAU) and my landings prior to the latest patch are more like impacts...... I've also had exactly the same behaviour occasionally in the PMDG 737.. .. ..

Certainly the (AAU) avionics update is a great step forward, but to say it is study level on a par with PMDG (or Fenix) is something of a stretch!  Its cockpit now demands greater knowledge and interaction, and it flies much better than in the past, but it still lacks some of the refinement in modelling and texturing of the better add-on aircraft (far too much mirroring and not even a tiny bit of wing flex, just to name two important things).

Having said all of that, it is still a fun aircraft to fly, along with the C208 and the TBM930 (with their respective improvement mods) and some of the other modded default aircraft.

Cheers!

I liked one of dwendel's liveries for the Longitude so much that I adapted it and use these colours to fly it every time it is taken out of the hangar!

How's the night lighting (taxi, landing lights from the cockpit)?

No, because there is no cabin modeled.

Thank you, so unlike in the CJ4 you can't even look into the cabin when you turn your head. Pity.

So this will be in SU12?  When will that come?   The Longitude was one of the first planes I used and moved on to others after about 8 months or so, so looking forward to the new one.

I'm extremely impressed with the progress on the latest AAU beta update today. The Longitude especially seems to be an entirely different and more true-to-life business jet.

I completed my first full flight after the latest update to the AAU1 beta and agree with this assessment.

Flew from Ibiza to Milan. Built the flight plan on the world map, without SIDs and STARs. I loaded into the Garmin unit although I had to edit out a few duplicate waypoints after adding the approach.

All speed restrictions and altitude constraints were met without any major issues.

Localizer and glideslope capture went off without a hitch. The autothrottle performed as expected.

Very pleased with how the Longitude keeps getting better.

I used the Lock cockpit interaction mode in order to use the joystick toggle on the GTCs.

OK I’ve updated and see all the new features - looks great - but shes not even following the flight plan at all despite VNAV and NAV being clicked and the autopilot on?

What are the correct steps to engage these so the aircraft follows the flight plan in the FMS?

Thanks..

FMS nav definitely works. Is your nav source on the captain's PFD set to FMS? By default, it's set to VOR1/LOC1.

Got it thanks!

Very cool, this lovely plane is now managing speed and vertical speed and route all by itself I can just sit and watch. 🙂. (Yes, I’m totally new to VNAV)

Thank you Gary I've obviously been out of touch completely with this.  What do I need to do to participate?
