Because there are people still using P3D. I would have thought that was obvious. Yes, little or no interest in MSFS.

It's also patently wrong - all 3 main desktop sims have their strengths & weaknesses. They are either all sims or all games.

Anger? Really?  If he had said the same about P3D I’d just ignore it. It seems there are some people who are very protective of MSFS and can’t cope with criticism of it. Just ignore it and move on. Replying isn’t mandatory.

One thing is constructive critisism, which is nice. But throwing out the "its not a real sim, but an Xbox game" Is a recipe to anger people. But I guess, your forum, your rules... Kinda dissapointed by your attitude in this thread to be honest... 

And too the OP, clap for yourself, you succeded:) This thread got hot, just as you wanted.

Please point out what I’ve posted  that disappoints you. I have not criticised MSFS so I’m struggling to understand.

Is that a constructive way to start a post? Its a perfect way to trigger mine is bigger than yours type of discussion. 

Ignore it then.  I don't know if you were around here in 2020-21, but it wasn't pretty.  We don't need to go back to sim-zealot/sim-religion/sim-proseltyzing/less filling/tastes great threads.

If someone isn't sincere in their postings, it will come out in subsequent posts, and everyone will see it over time.  There's nothing to be gained by feeding into it.

I was perma banned at that period I think, but I did read the forum, so I saw the drama. Im just a human being, so I poke into threads I maybe shouldnt have been. And I get offended easily, so it is what it is I guess.. Like I spend Countless hours watching videos, reading manuals learning as much as I can about aviation and really dig deep into it, and then someone tells me Im just gaming, yes I get offended by that:D

He made 8 points which were pretty reasonable for a newbie. You chose to ignore all of that and just comment on his final sentence.

Again, you could say exactly the same thing about criticism of p3d or XP, but since you have zero interest in MSFS you choose to single that one out in your comments.

Not exactly impartial for a moderator to be honest.

It wasnt just that sentence, it was the whole picture, which you choose to ignore, that the same poster posted an almost identical post 2 years ago claiming it was hes first time he tried MSFS and bashed it. Also he made another thread just at the same time as this called "Fenix vs FSLabs", It really smell like a troll to me. That sentence was just an example I used to illustrate a point. 

 

About the ban. I was banned for raising concern about the pricing of PMDG products for P3D, by mister Randazzo himself... Dunno if that really speaks in volumes....  So then I noticed PMDG had moved away from Avsim and that made me decide to come back, so I wrote an email to avsim staff to let me in again, maybe I should t have done that....

Moved to MSFS on 12/16/22 after 8 years with P3D. Added PMDG, Fenix, GSX, ~15 sceneries, PSXT, AIGOCI, GSX. Sixteen flights have been completed since then - zero issues.

I have a relatively old, but clean (no bloatware, no AV) sim-dedicated rig, which I built right before covid-19 troubles started back in 2020. It's  9900k at 5.0, 2080Ti, 32GB Ram, Win10, 2xSSD. Interestingly enough, I have installed MS the day it was released in August 2020. Since then, I have merely added SU and WU before I fully switched sims, and my current MSFS base software is the one that I installed 1.5 years ago!. Again, zero issues and I'm happy camper here running sim in DX11 mode with 2k resolution. 

P3D was great and obviously there a few features from P3D that I miss (please look at FSL vs. Fenix topic, for instance). However, it's time to move on. Who knows, maybe P3Dv6 would bring something really new.

I posted as a member of this forum, not a moderator. We are allowed to have personal opinions.

Criticism of software has zero impact on me. Even if someone said they hated Concorde I’d just ignore it.
