It may be an opinion which he is entitled to, but it's purely expressed in the MSFS forum to anger the users of that forum.

It's also patently wrong - all 3 main desktop sims have their strengths & weaknesses. They are either all sims or all games.

I wonder what would happen if I got on the p3D forum and told them how bad it looks....  Take a guess....

Asobo pretty much came out of "nowhere", although with a solid track record of producing first rate (other) games, and produced the single best flight simulator ever brought to market in the history of flight simulation.

This is a simple fact. Denying it, won't change that.

It still has issues to be sure, but the eco-system that quickly emerged around (e.g. flightsim.to) and within MSFS 2020 (e.g. Working Title) significantly contributed to MSFS 2020 from quickly moving from "a solid entry" to "excellent and outstanding".

My opinion is that anyone who is "triggered" by critical comments regarding their flight simulator of choice is probably well aware that it isn't perfect. I choose not to be triggered by anyone who considers that P3D "looks like word not allowed", since the graphical quality of the tightly defined region of the UK and Netherlands that I fly around in P3Dv4 is far removed from the "magnificent desolation" that surrounds it

“The moderator“? There’s more than one of us and I simply answered a question I was asked. If your post was hidden ( we don’t delete) then it was deemed to contain something unacceptable to the staff and in breach of the T&Cs you signed up to.

I’m not word not allowed and you’re out of order for suggesting as much - winky emoticon or not. I probably read as many topics on this forum as MSFS owners. Part of my job.

The high end aircraft I fly are not available in MSFS bar one and that P3D version gives me all I require.

We don’t all have the same priorities. I wish people would understand that. Managing fuel flying a 32-bit Concorde over open ocean gives me more pleasure than flying at 1500ft in MSFS.

I don't believe you've ever portrayed yourself as an in-depth user of MSFS so in that respect you are word not allowed--reading comments here doth not cut it period--or I'm word not allowed of your in depth use of MSFS.  If the former is true I standby my former comment that when you finally get there, you will not turn back after a brief period of realization.  By then the sim will have matured that much more.  BTW, that last comment is very telling: "...more pleasure than flying at 1500 ft in MSFS..."   I never do that Ray it's IFR all the way in some fabulous planes including PMDG 738.  The comment betrays how you characterize MSFS which is just so off, misleading, wrong.

That would be difficult given I don’t own it. But I’ve seen it several times on friend’s PCs and it doesn’t attract me in the slightest.

Do you know how long I’ve waited for a 64-bit Concorde? More than five years. FIVE YEARS. And you’re suggesting I now switch to MSFS that has no serious Concorde. I choose the sim that has the aircraft I want to fly. Not the one with the nicest scenery.

For you to suggest I won’t switch to a sim that has red lines I cannot accept shows you don’t really respect what’s important to me.

I’m done in this topic.

Actually no, it's an opinion. One I wholeheartedly agree with, but an opinion, nonetheless. A fact requires proof. And almost all examples of proof offered in a forum like this are still just opinions.

And that's a fact <grin>

Ryzen 9 7900X, Corsair H150 AIO cooler, 64 Gb DDR5, Asus X670E Hero m/b, 3090ti, 13Tb NVMe, 8Tb SSD, 16Tb HD, 55" Philips 4k HDR monitor, EVGA 1600w ps, all in Corsair 7000D airflow case. Sims in use - 2020, 2024, XP-12 and -11, FSX/SE, P3Dv4.5 and v5.4. DCS and AFS2 installed but rarely used

Same here nearly always FL380+ in either the BBJ or one of Working Titles jets. My most memorable experiences are mostly IFR down to minimums.

The thought of going back to p3d clouds (and frame rates) makes me shudder...

Ray--above all else I'm happy for your happiness of course, that is what we wish for others in this fantastic hobby of ours.   I'm not suggesting anything other than when you finally take the plunge you will be in for an incredible treat that has to be used in depth to appreciate, truly.  I mean the first many months early on there was now seasons, complex 3rd party planes to speak of, etc but still, flying some of the excellent default planes nearly daily for months--about six--is what it took to steal my attention away from P3D, and I'm sure my story largely mimics the average MSFS user's story.

@Noel, you do know what I mean by a red line don’t you? Until it’s removed I won’t consider buying it. Forced updates and a incomplete weather SDK preventing 3rd parties providing their own weather including historical.

And nothing beats Radar Contact so make that 3 red lines.

Should have seen the look on a co workers face years ago , when I talked him into giving up his flip phone and getting a smart phone. 😉

Now you are going back a couple of decades.

I have a smart phone, and I dislike it.  I'd rather go back to my flip phone.  No joke.

The only thing that's nice is the weather radar app on it.

I use mine as a second computer, pretty much.

Ray,  That is your choice... but many of us bought MSFS while still flying P3D as our main sim...

There are things that P3D is better at, but also things that MSFS is better at..

So, if you want to take a stand... fine.. But please respect that many of us have made the transition to MSFS and have chosen not to go back.. 🙂
