Google Map Enhancement Mod

Featured Replies

I've been flying with this mod exclusively for the last year or so... Just curious if anyone moved back to the standard Bing or if they are staying with the Google Mod.  If you moved back, why did you decide to do it?  Thanks!

I tried to use it a several  times, and never could get it to work, so I just gave up. Bing looks OK to me.

So there hasn’t been any improvement to the default over the years?

I guess that is immersion if you like gigantic billboards. 😉

Right? If you looked just right it looked like maybe it was cut into the grass. Do I imagined some farmer was just a google fan!

Yeah I tried it a few times but the watermark was a buzz kill for me and I didn't really see a difference visually either. I'll still have a go from time to time to experiment if there's updates.

I have used it for a long time, and find it a big improvement and much more realistic (In England anyway)

I fly exclusively in the US and have been getting stutters on final approach so I thought maybe it could be the app so I wanted to see if the default has made any improvements

I'm on a data cap so use the app's included cache and Google Maps.

You sure it isn't there in real life? 😀

I uses it intermittently whenever I fly VFR and area where the default MSFS is lacking.

I suppose this is subjective...

If you fly over an area you are familiar in real life with then it may make a difference but if you have never known an area/city/town would we know the difference?

That's probably why I just stick with Bing..

For IFR flying in the USA, what is the general consensus as to which one is better?
