Jack,

I've skimmed through the whole thread, and I understand that you've been trying to avoid a complete reinstall, although you're starting to consider it now. However, I haven't seen any mention of the possibility to refresh your Windows without losing data or installed programs/apps. On my Win11 PC it can be found in Settings -> System -> Recovery -> Reset this PC. You get to choose whether or not your personal files and apps will be kept, so it provides different levels of "depth" for the cleaning process.

This may not be enough to get rid of your 60 second stutter, but it's cheap in terms of the effort involved. It runs automatically and your PC looks the same after being busy for 30-60 minutes. If this doesn't solve your issue, you can still try a full reinstall later.

My simming system: AMD Ryzen 5800X3D, 32GB RAM, RTX 4070 Ti Super 16GB, LG 38" 3840x1600

Just my opinion Jack but I hope you keep going on the problem solving a while longer rather that going for a reinstall etc., as it may just happen again at some stage.
Plus I think we are all invested in this now and would like to know the eventual solution!
I am sure you feel the same way also judging by your persistence.

You have certainly eliminated a lot along the way, so I wonder how close you are.

Thank you ps.  Will your path work on Windows 10 because I don’t have 11.

This is going on my list of things to do in descending order.  It’s a good idea.

Thanks Bobcat.  One of the reasons I can’t do anything right now is because of an AT&T internet failure the last two days.  It’s been intermittent so I’m having to use my phone.  My computer won’t even get through using a hotspot.

Jack, I don't remember if it's the exact same path in Win 10, but this should be similar, and probably easy to find on the internet!

Good luck!

Thank you Peter.  This is very helpful and as I said I now have a hierarchal list of things to do, finding the time is the challenge.  I have a wife who needs medical attention all the time so it can be challenging but we get by.  What astonishes me is that search above on 60 seconds.  I saw that last summer and mine is like that but not in bush flights.  So, having said that it’s odd that others have the same issue.  What a puzzling thing this is.  I’m not alone with this problem.

Jack,

Do you connect to the network via WiFi, or with a wired connection? A few years ago I had an issue where (P3D at that time) would stutter/pause every 60 seconds exactly. It turned out that the WiFi adapter in my computer would do a re-scan for nearby networks every 60 seconds, and that was the cause.

I was using a wired connection, but the WiFi was active to connect to other devices in my home. I turned the WiFi adapter off in the Network settings in Windows Control Panel and it fixed the issue.

Hi Pete, I've decided what he said might be a good starting point in increasing importance leading up to a possible reformat of everything.  After all, this PC was built in 2019 and has never been reformatted.  Despite all the wonderful suggestions I have printed out and hope to do today if possible I do feel that a complete reformat might be in order.  What unsettles me the most however is the posts on MSFS's official site.  It would seem I'm not alone in this.  And even if I have to live with it maybe as someone pointed out there will be a fix from Asobo.

Aviation and flight sim are in my blood, I can't live without it.

Cheers, J.

Your  choice as  i  said  doesnt  take  long  to complete(if  it  doesnt  work  than  a full reinstall  is  in order) but  you  can  still wait  for  futher  imputs   from other  users  who  knows JIm's idea  might  be  the  solution
