Hi @Paul K For me FS ATC Chatter is a hidden gem. If you are just looking for background chatter it is really good and does as advertised. They have a demo version that you can try for free. I re

  • For those using FS ATC chatter don't forget to check every once in awhile for updates. I just downloaded updates for the US and Canada, over 4,000 new chatter files. They sound great!!!

  • Never thought I would buy a ATC chatter app. But fs-atc-chatter is very immersive  and plays well with Pilot2Atc. If you press the 🎤 hotkey the chatter is muted. If you release it, chatter goes on.

Oh, I must have missed a setting somewhere then. Mine continues to chat on top of MSFS unless I manually press and hold the mapped silence button.

How have you made this work automatically?

Earlier, according to the developer it has not been possible to check through SimConnect if MSFS ATC was communicating, and therefore not possible to automate a pause of FS ATC Chatter.

Ah, well then that explains why I had so much trouble flying in Finland...I had to use Oslo (ENGM) chatter.   Disregard my suggestion.

Live atc covers Finland Norway Portugal Ireland and other European countries the rules aren’t EU rules at all. The U.K. particularly still has some weird rules from the 50s about sharing radio transmissions which are hopelessly outdated.

Your suggestion of live atc is excellent though and I use it when flying in many countries around the world for background, to me it’s by far the most realistic option available and free.

In the U.K. I sometimes just put my cheap airband radio on which is also good.

You can set it to auto check on start too 😁

Yes I have that set, but for some reason it never alerts me.

Best combo for me is FS-ATC chatter + Pilot2Atc. P2A select automatically the chatter region from you current location, and of course pause chatter during conversation with ATC.

I thought I would round this off by saying I got the FS-ATC Chatter, and like it very much. I'll now look into Pilot2ATC.

Thanks for all the advice, folks.

Surely not everybody was kung fu fighting.

If you have doubts, look at the P2ATC author‘s website, he permanently releases improvements and 🐞 fixes.

Sometimes I have to admit to myself:

Pilot2ATC is a no brainer. It provides the perfect level of immersion. The UI is old but that does not impact anything tbh.

I know they are hard to come by, but has anyone got a UK  set of files to add into FS Chatter?

LOVE the ATC Chatter from Stick/Rudder studios.

It integrates perfectly into my ATC program (pilot2atc) in between all my calls between ground, tower, center etc. Very immersive.

If you have Pilot2ATC there is a function where you just point to the folder when the ATC chatter downloads are and it will start playing automatically in the sim as you fly. You can adjust is well, volume, etc etc

Yeah and having the ATC chatter in the background is amazing.

Uh. Nah. I would go to their website and pay for the product. It's been optimized and "cleaned up" for use in the sim. Nobody should give you that product for free.
