I thought the rock was from the MSFS default scenery.   Isnt this just the airport?

It does look like they have done something with the rock - As this is how it looks in the sim without their addon being installed. Which does look different to the screenshots posted.

Why have they made the rock face look like a huge mass of knobbly outcrops? The real rock of Gibraltar looks nothing like that

For once we agree on something.

Which is a shame as I was really looking forward to this release.

I think that's correct, as the main road to Spain goes across the runway.  Traffic is stopped when it's in use, though I wonder how that's handled in the addon.

I love this community sometimes.

Yes you can drive or walk across the runway, a siren goes off and the barriers close when the aircraft is at PIMOS for 27 or when the A/C is on downwind on the other side of the rock for 09 (I believe, happily to be corrected).

There is already an addon for the default GIB, but only for VFR flying you can turn On and  off the runway traffic with the landing lights, the developer was going to make an IFR Airline type one but its not been finished I believe

Is there a way to disable RDPresets rock's textures files and keep the default ones?

The default one still does not look perfect. It appears to have suffered a major tree landslide over quite a large section. I hope that someone has been up there to check if the situation is safe for the local residents below

I have flown from Gibraltar in the sim quite a lot, and I don't remember it looking like an alien landscape like that.  It would be good for them to put the default rock scenery back I think - they definitely haven't improved it.

Rob (but call me Bob or Rob, I don't mind).

I like to trick airline passengers into thinking I have my own swimming pool in my back yard by painting a large blue rectangle on my patio.

Does anyone know why there are no charts and procedures for this airport on Navigraph?

According Navigraph FMS data Developer:

" Thats a sim limitation. When no approaches are available you can select only automatic because the sim expect any approach type and not only a runway.

And according the notam … The RNAV approaches are currently suspended. The default MSFS stock approaches are outdated."  .....

Eeek, you’re right.  What a shame.

Well at least it should be a fairly simple fix for them to pull their version from the addon if enough people complain.
