Nvidia Driver Fix

I don't know how much this bug has been affecting MSFS, but I would imagine it must have been having quite an impact.

I've found things a bit stuttery lately but had put it down to overloading my system with too many addons, so it will be interesting to see if the new fixed driver helps when I have a few minutes to install it and run a few tests.

Have any of you noticed the issue having an impact and could any of you more technically minded shed any light on how we may have been affected?  Have any of you installed the fixed driver yet and can comment on whether you are noticing the improvements that the fix is supposed to bring?

Looking forward to your comments and any analysis.

I have had the same Nvidia driver for around a year and a half. It works great, not going to fix it....😉

Yeah, some of the older drivers seemed a lot smoother Bob, but I've had to update to take advantage of resizable bar, optimise DLSS, close security threats, etc.  I guess it depends whether you are using RTX 30/40 series graphics cards to an extent.

I'm not going to get the chance to install the new driver until mid afternoon tomorrow at the earliest, so hopefully a few may have commented before I do.

I often reboot between flights and this bug doesn't present until you shut the game/sim off, so I likely wouldn't see any impact.  Just a day or two ago I did 3 flights in a row w/o closing down MSFS and didn't notice any issues so perhaps it's only affecting some.

From what I read,  this “bug” was only introduced in their newest 531.18 driver.

The description of this bug says it was affecting cpu performance when quitting a game as there was an nvidia container process that continues running in task manager with the latest driver.  I actually did see this myself in task manager just yesterday.  However since it happens on quitting a game it doesn’t sound like performance while playing was affected.  I was having some performance issues myself mainly when arriving at an airport but I seemed to help that out by lowering my FSLTL traffic settings.  I don’t think this hotfix will improve performance in the sim but I’d love to be surprised

Hello everyone,

The fix (532.26) has disappeared from the download page.

Regards.

Using 531.18 on both pc’s I did not notice anything weird ….

Hotfix : don’t see it either. Perhaps it caused other issues and they pulled it back.

It’s a hotfix release… not really intended for widespread distribution but only to offer a fix to those affected.

Is it true this was not affecting drivers circa 11/2022?  I had a weird CPU hit a NZQN yesterday with the CPU heating up substantially over baseline such that I ended up taking the PC outside to blow out everything, which really wasn't significant dust anyway.  It was one flight that I had not rebooted since the last flight...

The fix itself is a complete package?

So Uninstall the old one (with DDU) and install this one?

I get things like this at random.  Sometimes after a PC reboot and new session they miraculously disappear!

Mine was stuttering at wellington the other night.  The next time I went into MSFS it was fine.  Each time I only had my standard background processes running (FSRealistic etc.)

I am wondering if it is related to how many sessions you fly when in MSFS.
I tend to do three different flights in different aircraft on average in an MSFS session, so I am wondering if it hangs on to old data or something as you do more sessions.
Like I say, a PC reboot normally clears it.  I have had it after an update as well occasionally (i.e. a reboot needed).

I am going to try the new drivers and the hotfix anyway.

Well that fixed my crashes.

It's just like any other: just run it and it will replace the old drivers.
