I absolutely don't want to open up a menu in my virtual cockpit to interact with ATC. That would be an immersion killer for me. I believe it's like the default ATC, you open up a window and select an option. Also, you were always aware of where you were in your flight. Something I find kinda hard in PF3. Also, flightplanning in PF3, can be kinda cumbersome, in my opinion. It may be second nature to some, but I find it a bit clunky and confusing. Maybe I'm using it the wrong way of have misunderstood something... Hats off to the developer, Dave March, though! Always amazing support from him! This FSHud sounds really interesting. Something I don't understand though: The description indicates, that FSHud is already released for MSFS - at least you can purchase it. But... Am I automatically getting access to the beta by purchasing it or...? If not, what version am I getting by purchasing and downloading it? Is there some video/review of the latest (beta) version of FSHud, someone could share? I been using PF3 for around 8 years. I have never once used PF3 to do a flight plan. I use Simbrief, then export the plan to MSFS, and load the plan from MSFS into PF3 with one click of the mouse. Edited April 9, 20233 yr by Bobsk8
April 9, 20233 yr Well I've just had an incredibly frustrating day using this software and will try to get a refund in the morning The software itself is pretty good, intuitive and easy to use. Seems to work and route me properly. I've seen some jumping AI aircraft though. It's not perfect. I'm using the 1.275 build or whatever the non-beta build is. The voices are a bit robotic but not too bad. It seems a good product on the face of it. Howver about an hour into any flight it just reduces things to a stuttery mess. I've lowered the aircraft injection down to about 15 for everything, changed the refresh rate up to 60, tried pretty much the works, and it's a stutter fest. If I quit and load up basic FSLTL I get buttery smooth 30FPS again. I'm going to try to get FSLTL to inject the traffic and do ATC off of FSHUD. Seems like this is an option and will allow me to use the JustFlight models. It's amazing to be in this position, with all these different programs and model packs thanks to the useless default AI situation. It has to be the worst, most clunky aspect of the sim? I think what should be required is a video of the improved version, because the video I saw of the current version would not find me getting interested in purchasing.

I emailed the guy on their forums and have yet to get a reply. I actually like the product and would be very happy to keep it if it was as smooth as FSLTL. I'm going to see how it goes using the FSLTL injector with FSHUD ATC

Definitely make sure you use FSLTL injector and set your traffic source to external in the FSHud settings.

I'm doing a 30FPS locked flight and things good so far. It normally goes to pot as I fly over the Netherlands though. So we will see if it can maintain.,
April 9, 20233 yr Yep, back to pure FSLTL for me. I tried all day to get decent performance and after a couple of hours this descends into a stuttering mess, even with very low abounts of traffic (10 aircraft). Which is a shame as I really liked the product.

Which is a shame as I really liked the product. There's a lengthy discussion over on the official FSHud forums regarding performance issues with AI. There are some potential fixes you can try. I was having major stuttering issues when using FsHud with the default AI. But after installing FSLTL, the stuttering strangely stopped. I'm sure a lot of the stuttering issues will be fixed in the upcoming major update.

One assumes you mean "it finds"/assigns appropriate departures & arrivals/approachs from your filed enroute plan to match those selected runways (& not flip/flop runways in light & variable for instance) That is a fine feature to me ....... particularly if one makes such runway selection from a TAF & chart review which may or may not require an acceptable downwind operation and which is probably more "real" for the likes of FSLTL where the "real" traffic is operating to preferred runways for local reasons. for now, cheers john martin
April 10, 20233 yr With version 1.3, I believe we no longer need to use AIFLOW as well as AIGROUND? Because already with the current version, the speed bug in CRZ is solved. Edited April 10, 20233 yr by Axis3600

An addon that tries to simulate ATC communication but doesn't allow to use the way of communication that is used IRL - by voice - doesn't make much sense to me. That's a shame because FSHud seems quite promising otherwise. Edited April 10, 20233 yr by RALF9636

However, what is desperately bad, and I mean really poor IMO, is that if you have more than a single monitor, and let's face it, many of us do, if you click on another monitor then the UI disappears and you have to faff around pressing a button to get it back. Which doesn't sound like a big deal, but it's extremely frustrating, believe me I operate with a touchscreen 32" OH for the 738, so you can imagine how frustrating it is when I'm clicking between my OH and Navigraph maps on my other monitor and the darn FSHud keeps disappearing. And this happens regardless of which monitor FSHud is displayed on, so even if you have it displayed on the second monitor and then you click anywhere on the main monitor, it will disappear from there also! I 'spoke' with the dev yesterday on his FB page and was told this is being addressed, not in the current 1.3 update but in the 1.4 update which should be released in the summer, which to be frank, I was extremely surprised at. I thought it would have been a priority to get sorted out Edited April 10, 20233 yr by Rockliffe HowardMSI Mag B650 Tomahawk MB, Ryzen7-7800X3D CPU@5ghz, Arctic AIO II 360 cooler, Nvidia RTX4090 GPU, 32gb DDR5@6000Mhz, SSD/2Tb+SSD/500Gb+OS, Corsair 1000W PSU, LG Ultragear 48"4K, MFG Crosswinds, TQ6 Throttle, Fulcrum One YokeMy FlightSim YouTube Channel: https://www.youtube.com/@skyhigh776
