Low (but not too slow) aircraft recommendations

Featured Replies

Well, I see there's lots to see in MSFS. 🙂

Does anyone have a favorite aircraft they'd like to suggest for VFR flying?

Any recommendations welcome.

Thanks,

Mark

Looks cool. I like the visibility aspect, which is on my list.

I used to fly the RV7 in P3D, but this one is better.. 🙂

For low flying and sightseeing (if that’s what you are after) visibility is high on my priority list. Planes like the C208, Kodiak, Cessna 310, Cessna 414 don't have great sightseeing visibility even though they are great flying airplanes. As Bert mentioned i love my Vans RV14 because it flies nice, cruises along nice and great sight lines. I think there is a Newer RV10 out now but I have not tried it yet. Just my $.02.

Love Airplanes and American Muscle Cars

JPLogistics Cessna 152 - lots of interesting variants are available and you can add advanced avionics if you really want to.

Low - Slow - High Wing

AMD Ryzen 7 9800X3D  / MSI X870 Tomahawk Mobo / 64 GB DDR5 memory / RTX 4070 Super with 12 GB VRAM / AORUS FO48U 4k display
NVMe for Drive C, an NVMe device dedicated to Flight Sim 2024 and a separate NVMe device for Flight Sim 2020 and an NVMe dedicated to 500GB of addons managed by AddonsLinker   / 1 GB Comcast Xfinity Internet connection / HP Reverb G2 / Tobii 5 Head & Eye Tracking

Carenado Skymaster C337.

Ryzen 9800X3D, RTX 5090, 64GB, Win 11. MSFS2020. Moza, MFG, Fulcrum & Virpil controllers. Quest 3 for VR.

Got Friends Wilga.  It flies as slow as a C152 (100-110 kts), has great visibility, realism features, and can land just about anywhere.  It looks and sounds great, and has a few variants to choose from (engines, avionics, skis, floats).  If I want to do some low level sightseeing this is my aircraft of choice.

i9-13900K, Asus RTX 4080, Asus Z790 Plus Wi-Fi, 32 GB Ram, Seasonic GX-1000W, LG C1 48” OLED 4K monitor, Quest 3 VR

I like the India Foxtrot Echo Rutan Long-EZ. The auto pilot is quirky and got the rudder sensitivity high for crosswind landings, flew it many many hours. I think I got it in the marketplace.
