sad that on a freeware they adding a great feature but using payware staff that is useless for more  msfs users like navigraph charts subscription. little nav map  has a similar map and is freeware they could use the same system with a custom map

We went over various freeware solutions but nothing provides the level of detail that the AMDB data that navigraph provides. We had a viable free solution but found very quickly that it was lacking. Our hands are tied for the time being until we find something that comes close (that's not LNM). However to strive for the fidelity and accuracy we aim for, the Navigraph AMDB provided that.

Hi, are you on the FBW team? I have not really noticed you posting before, on behalf of the FBW team. Usually it's Watsi and Iceman that post on behalf of FBW here at Avsim.

yes I get that there are some reasons behind, i just hope you can add a freeware alternative in future updates cause for me as someone who not flight in vatsim and just flight few times a month offline  without see charts use  navigraph will be a waste of money. you guys are doing amazing work

I am on the team. Watsi is usually the one that does marketing post but you have Iceman, Holland and others who tend to reply to FBW topics. It's just hard to notice cause Avsim doesn't have a "Commercial Member" tag of sorts for freeware developers.

Thanks!

And I think Avsim should add a tag for very famous freeware developers like the FBW team.  Great work on the FBW A320 and I look forward to the FBW A380!  Also a big thanks for letting projects like Headwind use FBW code, I can't say enough of how other projects like Headwind are getting so good, because they are using the FBW source code!

I just wanted to add, anyone can use FBW's code as long as you comply with GPL requirements. That was one of our major reasons for choosing that license and why we're not on the marketplace (they wanted MIT). To really encourage the benefits of FOSS.

Hopefully we can really set a standard with the 380 when it releases in alpha 🙂.

Be right back. Gotta change my pants after hearing those sweet sweet flaps deployment sounds.

These guys do amazing work! Looking forward to this eventually hitting the sim!

This mirror's the excitement I had when I first saw MSFS just before I attended Cosford a few years ago now, yet I never envisioned freeware to this level. Otherwise I would have been even worse!!

You can, of course, add it to your signature or to the member title in your profile.

We have an admin-controlled tag for commercial product developers/marketers so that their status is visible to all--this minimizes potential for conflicts of interest.  If I'm advocating for the FlySilly add-on, it's important for folks to know that I might be the developer of FlySilly...or if I'm harshly criticizing it, it might be good to know if I'm a dev associated with a competing product.
