And I specifically said for my region, it was a positive comment aimed towards X-Plane. What on earth is going on in this absolute dump of a community called the Avsim X-Plane section? Sometimes it happens indeed, I concur with you.

I think the current climate has also been influenced by the fact that, especially in the recent past (last 3 years...) trolls or haters from other sims used to participate in the X-Plane forum just to disrupt things, spread negativity or criticize without a constructive purpose but only in an offensive way. Sometimes, it still happens nowadays (not your case of course).

anything's got to be better than the absolute dogs dinner we've been served since XP12 launched, let's hope 12.06 has some much needed improvements.

The two versions of images do happen in real life as I've seen them before. That doesn't mean they both happen where one resides, but at the same time I do believe they don't happen either. 

I personally never like the orange/pruplish sunset thing when XP12 was introduced, 12.06 is a positive step in the right direction.

We can agree to disagree on a lot of things but Sethos did explain his "real life comparison" situation certainly well, at least that's what I understood.

Indeed! XP 12.06 has that authentic nordic dusk color gradient. (Same can't be said about current version, sadly).

Just have to add, that's an amazing example. 12.06 really nails it.

I've hidden a few posts. For some reason even discussing colours in the sim is causing people to take offence and attack each other.

I have a CPL and plenty of hours.  This is very nice.

I've already complimented XP12 on its atmospheric lighting before, it's the most realistic I've seen. 

Now with these new side-by-sides and this image, I see they have moved the bar higher.

Between the reduced saturation of the sunset, to the subtle blue hues on the snow-covered terrain, to the color coming off the panel. 

The cirrus clouds look great too.

I'm a also a big fan of the competitor but it proves you don't have to wear the jersey of one team or another.  Tired enough of it in politics, don't need it in flight simulation.

I'm not going to lie, when I first saw this I thought I was in the MSFS thread. Then I thought it was a comparison between XP12 screenshot and a life real photo. Not trying to cause any issues here.
