Same time/day/location in both?  I'm just wondering why the sun is above the horizon in the first, but below it in the second.

If it's a reasonably close comparison, 12.06 really nails it and I was already quite impressed with the lighting already in XP12 vs. MSFS.

Obviously the clouds are much better between these two, and all three are far more realistic.  Less purple/orange.

Second row image in 12.06 absolutely nails it from looking like real life, and the back-lit clouds in the third row are also a major improvement.

Its definately "above" the horizon or it would be nightime.

I noticed it to, I suspect they have "not sunset" weather finally sorted (sun shouldn't always be visible through the clouds as it drops behind the horizon, in XP atm every day is a sunset/sunrise day)

The screenshot is "cut in two". One is reflecting how 12.05 was and the one in the right shows how it will be with the 12.06 improvements. It took me a while to notice it too. At least that is the case in the first two screenshots.

I think you missed the point of his question.  The top left shot (12.05) shows the sun above the horizon, whereas the comparison shot on the top right (12.06) shows it below the horizon.

At any rate, the new clouds look great, and to be honest, I think they look pretty good now at least when you are “below the deck.”

Awesome, nice improvements indeed!

I haven't purchase XP12 but these images (along other incoming enhancements) are starting to encourage me to get it.

Because the first image, comparing the scenery, is cropped slightly more to the right and cutting out the sun in 12.06 that was visible in 12.05.

The other images captured more closely the same angle.

Looks like a nice improvement.  Especially the cirrus clouds.

I'm glad they fixed the depth and darkness of the clouds. Or at least that's what it seems in the last photo. Stormy clouds don't look too scary as of now.

Really like this change;

Csh0VzX.png

It's exceedingly difficult to find a sim that truly nails the subtle colours of the nordic countries. The 12.06 image looks so much closer to what I'd see looking out the window, instead of these vivid, bombastic colours.

EDIT: Okay I better add a translation for the people with major reading comprehension issues and the local diehard X-Plane fans who basically acts as hammers and see nails everywhere.

> It's exceedingly difficult to find a sim that truly nails the subtle colours of the nordic countries

NONE OF THE CURRENT SIMULATORS, I.E MSFS, X-PLANE, NOR P3D TRULY NAIL THE COLOURS OF MY REGION, I.E NORDIC COUNTRIES AS I AM FROM DENMARK. THUS I REALLY LIKE THIS CHANGE, I AM POSITIVE TOWARDS IT.

I AM NOT OR HAVE NOT SAID THE BEFORE PICTURE IS UNREALISTIC NOR IMPOSSIBLE TO SEE SOMEWHERE IN THE WORLD. I AM SAYING IT IS NOT REALISTIC FOR MY REGION AS THE OLD COLOUR WAS TOO BOMBASTIC AND VIVID -- TWO WORDS PERFECTLY DESCRIBING A COLOUR SCHEME THAT IS VERY VIVID, BRIGHT OR CONTRASTY.

I will work on a little colouring pop-up book so everyone understands what I mean, also write apology cards for the indigenous X-Plane users who were offended by my hateful remark. I am sorry for my transgression.

I would say that you need to get out more because those colors appear in the SW USA desert quite regularly. But that would be rude and bombastic of me.

Did you even halfway bother to read my post before you panties got in a twist?

Of course. Did you look up 'bombastic' before you huffed and puffed and blew your own house down? I was making sure that anyone who didn't know that the colors are actually realistic somewhere in the world, could see beyond your blustering use of adjective.
