UPDATE 1.33.8.0 DESTROYED ALL MY SETTINGS!

Featured Replies

Same here.  All my graphic settings have been changed to Low or Off.

Been with them since 1982 but I've about had it now with this sim.  Every time they change something I have to go through things like this.  I spend more time fixing things than flying.

MSFS can fix these issues much more easily. So let's see what happens.

Fortunately I don't seem to get this stuff, changed settings, borked this and that.  And my connection is over WiFI, not hard ethernet, but I have good bandwidth despite it.  I have always followed the KISS method putting everything on one big NVMe drive including OS, default install locations for everything.  Never experience these heinous issues.  But yes cloud dependency has its own giant set of potential problems.  It's really a house of cards, but so are the others in large part w/o authentication things get pretty static pretty quickly I suspect.  In fact our whole way of business and life now is a giant house of cards.

I haven't encountered these issues on any other simulators or any other programs on my computer.

What do you supposed is different as I don't have these issues and never have including after any updates.

Only MSFS seems to be affected, and there may be an underlying cause that I am not aware of.

Do you install MSFS in its suggested default locations?

I never had these issues too, and I don't have MSFS installed on default locations. Also OS is on a different SSD, addons on 2 different SSD's, no problems. It's really strange why some are losing all the settings with every update. Asobo needs to figure this out.

Yes.

Must be something to do with intermittent disconnects from the server at a critical time or something so I think you are right it will be something they need to troubleshoot and fix.  I wonder how many are plagued by this issue with resetting settings after an update.  Steam or Store?  Store here.

Store, thank you!

I experienced this for the very first time when I pushed AAU2.

I had never experienced it before, but this was also my first install of such an update after having migrated to Deluxe Premium. Before I was on Standard.

Thankfully not most settings were reset, and I had specific aircraft profiles for each of my controllers less one - the rudder, which was the only being reset.

I have meanwhile created two specific rudder profiles which I use in every fixed wing aircraft or helicopter.

I keep screenshots of the settings pages for graphics, assistance, etc... just in case ...

I have added a line to the user config file to try to prevent this...

AsoboRandomiseUserSettingsAfterUpdate = Off

Unfortunately, it didn't work!    So maybe they can do something their end, to help us out.  That would be nice wouldn't it?

On my side, the nav data update of yesterday has reset my Assistance settings. It's not the first time it happened this way.

"By Design" but doesn't state whether that's just for Xbox users or both Xbox and PC, either way it doesn't make any sense to me.
