June 29, 20232 yr Been noticing this more and more. It looks like the newer tiles are higher res and better colored. In this shot I'm flying near KDLH Duluth MN, USA and as I get lower the newer tiles appear. This is good (sort of) because the old imagery is green and very dated. But bad because it's honestly game breaking imo. Are people still seeing this phenomenon? Is it a DX12 issue only? swappingtiles by Ryan Butterworth, on Flickr | My Liveries | FAA ZMP | PPL ASEL | | Windows 11 | MSI Z690 Tomahawk | 12700K 4.7GHz | MSI RTX 4080 | 64GB 6000 MHz DDR5 | 500GB Samsung 860 Evo SSD | 2x 2TB Samsung 970 Evo M.2 | EVGA 850W Gold | Corsair 5000X | HP G2 (VR) / LG 27" 1440p |
June 29, 20232 yr Seen it recently (DX11) in places I never did before which is concerning, doesn't happen everywhere though. First saw it with the UK WU over the Isle Of Man so the issue has been there for ages. June 29, 20232 yr Never seen this, but I use terrain lod 100. Does it also happen with TL100 or 200? June 29, 20232 yr Not limited to DX12, I had it with DX11, too. From what I read on the Official Forum, it's indeed spreading. I followed that long thread in the Official Forum from its beginning and what I took from this it's indeed independent on settings. Most probably something server-related. I actually see this rarely where I fly, but if it surfaces it's indeed most ugly. The thread on the Official Forum starts October 2022(!) and has been "bug logged" for months now. In my mind, it's high time MS/Asobo deal with this. I already alerted CM Jayne Ivana to bring this forward in a Q&A, but the alert was removed by a moderator and I wast told alerting Communiry Magers is against the code of conduct.😟 Kind regards, Michael Intel i7-13700K / AsRock Z790 / Crucial 32 GB DDR 5 / ASUS RTX 4080OC 16GB / BeQuiet ATX 1000W / WD m.2 NVMe 2TB (System) / WD m.2 NVMe 4 TB (MSFS) / WD HDD 10 TB / XTOP+Saitek hardware panel / LG 34UM95 3440 x 1440 / HP Reverb 1 (2160x2160 per eye) / Win 11
June 29, 20232 yr Not seeing this with LOD 150, DX12 and ARC GIS tiles. Flying in PNW. sp Edited June 29, 20232 yr by Sky_Pilot071
June 29, 20232 yr So no one with this problem tried a low lod like 100 so we can be sure this is not caused by using high lods? It would be interesting to know. June 29, 20232 yr I'm quite sure it is server related. It comes and goes. One day it is there. Next day, same location, gone again.

June 29, 20232 yr I have tried different LOD factors, right up to 300 sometimes, and it doesn't seem to do anything. Like others, I am beginning to think it is a combination of internal code that cannot be affected by any settings, and server issues. I really wish they would give us some feedback on it though. 'Bug Logged' is not much feedback is it? We need to know if they are prioritising it for a fix, or if it is a case of 'cannot reproduce' again. I‘ve only encountered it in a few places (e.g. in the mountains near Porto, Corsica) and no matter what I do settings-wise or how often I visit the place, it‘s there and has been so for a few months now. I sometimes wonder if we‘re referring to the same phenomenon. In the respective thread in the official forum, there seems to be a mix of reports on tiles slowly loading in and on tiles that seem to be of different imagery popping in (this is what I‘m referring to; it can also be seen on the world map when zooming in).
