So, iniBuilds KJFK works well on my 7800X3D/4090 system, but of course, it comes down to different settings for each of us. I did turn off a few of the airport settings like GSE clutter and static aircraft. Plus, I limit my FSLTL traffic to around 30 planes. However, I am having a terrain elevation/bump problem on the runway thresholds at KJFK. I have not seen this at any of my other iniBuilds airports like KLAX or EGLL. I have seen a post on their forum about it, but there has been no response from the developers yet. I did ensure that the Asobo KJFK was uninstalled first, and emptied my rolling cache (even though I don't use it). I am not sure what is causing the issue. But, otherwise, the airport performs smoothly for me with my settings. Yes, well, I was doing what I call "hell testing", trying to create the "hell scenario" or "worst-case" scenario for the new hardware. And I did crank up FSLTL settings to much more than 30 aircraft, and I had Teterboro and Newark in the bubble as well...with a 200 TLOD...so you can see where this was heading. In any NORMAL settings I would use, yes absolutely, it's smooth and tremendous performance. I'll have to look out for the bump at the thresholds. Make sure you disabled the Asobo JFK. July 26, 20232 yr Author So its day 4 since I got my new build up and running. I had some issues with fan noise which I've configured in the BIOS and not had that much time to really stretch my legs in the sim. However I did do a flight last night in the A2A comanche flying into LDSP after the World update. Running in 4k at 60FPS++++ is just an experience I can't describe, the sim looks totally different coming from my i7 4790k + 1070 @1080P its almost a life changing experience. Sure I've paid an arm and a leg for my current rig but I'm sooooo happy with it. Thomas Derbyshire

Like you say, it doesn't hurt to treat yourself once in a while when you work hard and look after your family! That would be my ultimate setup by the way. I have a few pennies to spend, but I am just looking at which way to go. I think a 4080 will be good enough for me as I just want to bring in frame generation so I can hold 60 in all scenarios (my 3080Ti nearly holds it but not quite in complex situations). But then I see you need to use DX12. I have problems with missing texture tiles sometimes in DX12 (a known bug), but not in DX11. So, I am now considering if a 4080 will hold 60FPS in DX11 without frame generation if I use DLSS. It will just about I think. Or do I make sure and go for the 4090... Hmmm. Trouble is, I need my GPU quiet of a night so as not to wake anyone (my 3080 is on the limit of acceptable noise, and the rest of the PC is quiet), so I was looking at this ultra quiet 4080.https://www.asus.com/motherboards-components/graphics-cards/asus/rtx4080-o16g-noctua/ They don't do a 4090 version of that unfortunately! 😕 Edited July 26, 20232 yr by bobcat999 Rob (but call me Bob or Rob, I don't mind). They look great with massive heatsinks, mine barely breaks 55c under full load and it has a single fan on either side that runs very quiet. I feel my Noctua case fans at 800rpm are louder. Plus, under 40c I think it is, the fan just idles, so it's completely silent a lot of the time. I've played some games for hours where the fan never even turned on. Reason I ask is because my rig without FG at Max ultra settings with TLOD at 200 and Objects LOD at 200 gives me 30-50 FPS at the airport, approach and departure using the Fenix which I consider to be the heaviest aircraft on performance. The FPS fluctuation depends on airport so KJFK and EGLL the heaviest. It also depends on how much AI traffic I ingest via FSLTL as well. In those scenarios I am not getting 60 FPS at 4k but if I enable FG then of course the FPS doubles. Thomas Derbyshire

Looks like I might need to bite the bullet and go for DX12 with frame generation then, which will obviously do it! Do you notice the missing texture issues much? For me I saw it mainly at the ends of runways, but I haven't tried DX12 for months now, so maybe they have fixed it up a bit. To be honest I've not flown enough yet to say how often it happens. But its a small price to pay for the performance gains for DX12 and FG and I've only noticed it on departure 1 or 2 times never on arrival. I'm sure this will be fixed but then again v2024 is round the corner as well. Thomas Derbyshire

I am pleased for you, There seems to have been a few posts lately from users with these new AMD CPU's that have been struggling to get the results they had hoped for and I was beginning to wonder what was going on here. I did breathe a sigh of relief when I read your post though lol I know these rigs are not cheap and I was torn for a while before I sold my trusty 3090 and brought a 4090. It was actually my wife who reminded me that I also work my you know what off and deserve this. It took me a day or so to get things running smoothly (I always like to go back to basics after a major hardware change) but like everyone else that is lucky to own a 40XX card I have been super pleased. It really is flight sim nirvana for me 🙂 I was curious how my 12700K would pair with the 4090, it has actually been zero issues and it will be interesting to see how MSFS 24 performs with proper multi core support. I just ordered a 7800x3D and new mobo/ram to replace my 5800x3D system. I also have a 4090 and find I'm still CPU limited most of the time so hoping a bit of added CPU will help balancing things out a bit more. I should have my system setup this weekend and will report on my results. I'm not expecting huge gains, but something that helps with busy airports would be great.
