The way I see it is that the TDS is the real thing, it's geared towards real world pilots in it's operations, but within the sim it has limitations. While the PMS is geared towards the simmer.

By that I mean for ex. the PMS will give you extra functions it will give you the glide path, it will show you Traffic, it will show you the radar, it will show you the wind, you have simbrief and navigraph integration, the flight plan loaded will show up in the PMS, all "geared" towards the flight simulator for ex.

Both are strong products, just choose what you want.

Well bother I have come across this thread a bit too late as I just pulled the trigger on the TDS 750nxi and there are some observations here that might have made me hesitate.  For example I can see how the PMS unit is the more evolving product developing as the sim changes that could make it the better choice for simmers as opposed to real world pilots. However, what pushed over the edge was the updated Garmin database and the fact that I have not updated my Navigraph data since December 2022 so both datasets should be quite similar. If I had gone with the PMS unit now I would also have got a Navigraph Charts/Navdata subscription but will put that on hold until after MSFS2024 is released.  Over time that will save me the cost of the TDS 750 and at some future point I might also get the PMS 750.

I’ve been running for a few days the free PMS which is limited but nice enough. I did a couple of ILS and tricky RNAV. Good vibes. I have my doubt about the synchronization for the turning point warning but it might be me.

The question I have at this time is, is this product really finished or is it a work in progress ? I was stunned to see in their change log more than one hundred patches since release of v2 ! The last one these last few days. And it needs the WT 3rd party modules… 

Scratching my head as I have no intention to be a tester, I want a product stable and finished. Specially at 75 bucks.

Adding that they use Discord for support 😖…

There is a difference between " not finished" and "adding features".. The PMS worked fine before the update, and now it is even better. As far as Discord, the developer is there most of the day, and will quickly answer questions. Try that with any other GPS add on.

They keep on fixing the product which shows a real commitment to their baby but a work in progress. 

I think that it is a dimension one should be aware before buying.

In the Sim World a Work in Progress is always a good thing. Oh wait, from yesterday to today there was an update Change log v2.1.98.

Also PMS mentioned that you won't need a new licence for it to work in FS24

I can see you don't seem to seem to understand software development, so no sense discussing this anymore.

I beg to differ. Between  a couple of unavoidable patches after release and more than 100 in a few months, there is a difference 😄. I do not have in mind an addon for any sim with such a profile. Quite unusual.

To be fair, that has been my experience with PMS AND TDS.  I have been a customer of both for some time now.  Both excel at customer service and responsiveness to their discords.  Both make excellent products.  Both serve thier respective missions differently yet effectively

This is exactly what put me off the free one. Endless tiny updates. TDS seems rock solid to me. Maybe three updates since I've had it.

Not sure what you are getting at... PMS is striving to make their GTN as much like the real Garmin unit as possible.  That is not a small task, as we know from the parallel efforts by WT to make their GNS and G1000/3000 units as much like the real units as well.  🙂

What PMS does (dozens of patches)  is certainly commendable but is a purchase parameter.  I am not overly fond of buying a work in progress.  No judgment. Doesn’t seem too complicated to understand . 

They are obviously talented people and the demo is a great commercial move. I like it. And I put also this on the other side of the balance.

If I felt the way you do, I would ditch MSFS 2020 right now. How many patches and updates since it came out. ?
