I do enjoy your poetic criticism.   It tends to be accurate even if some people don't like to hear it.
I am grateful for a lot of things MSFS brings to us, especially for free, but a lot of complaints about the fundamental issues still fall on deaf ears, and some people try to crush these criticisms because we get a lot of stuff for 'free' - I think that is the main driver for those wearing the rose-tinted spectacles.

We are three years in now, and a lot of fundamental issues still exist.  Then again, if they were solved, the reasons for 2024 would be less convincing.

Look at the effort Jorg has put in to getting some extinct flying boat in to MSFS recently. Imagine that same enthusiasm to fix glaring issues?

Sarcasm detected? 😁 Despite the fact these defining borders were there before all the city updates, you'd think they'd fix it WITH the city updates.

Do you get this hot mess on the World Map also? (just recorded this)

I have never encountered this problem.Except for the shots I just posted,I only use Google Map Enhancement.

Or if Mexico will get an update

I hate to say it, but that seems to answer the anomalies you are experiencing. The standard sat tiles are color and, more importantly, brightness adjusted to match the lighting in the MSFS world. I've been using GME myself for a long time until recently, finding that while the colors are better in places, with GME everything is usually too bright and looks washed out. If the city update uses new tiles in MSFS I can see why this doesn't fit to the GME ones. Best to try it with default sat imagery, see if it still happens.

"Except for the shots I just posted,I only use Google Map Enhancement." The shots that I published are with MSFS 2020 by default...It has nothing to do with the problem of tiles loading when the plane moves forward. It's just a shoddy job City update.A high resolution tile placed on top of another without harmony.

I've been using GME myself for a long time until recently ...and you don't know that you can adjust Google Map Enhancement, contrast, brightness, ground color etc...??????????????

Example that you will not be able to reproduce with the default ground color MSFS 2020.

Nice screenshots, the adjusted brightness looks fine. I never got around to using the customization tools. In recent weeks I flew over the African deserts and there I stopped using Google because the tiles lacked a lot of detail due to the excessive brightness that (even if I used the adfustment tools) could not be brought back by making them darker.

I made this post a while ago and the author of GME is aware of this but unable to correct it. The Google maps have burned in bright areas where their photogrammetry exists. Maybe it is that what you are seeing?

Thanks, but why are you using Google for Africa if you are not satisfied. Plus when you choose your starting point on the world map it's quite easy to see overall if there are light tiles. I prefer the imperfections of Google than the unrealistic color of MSFS. It's a personal choice. In Google Map Enhancement there are several world map options, some are better than others depending on the country.

I too have used the Google map replacement tool, but installed it shortly after experiencing the very thing you've mentioned.

I was always aware of the similar and well reported tile swapping issue on the Isle of Man (UK) but a few weeks ago I spotted the exact same problem your video displays south east of Geneva.  It would occur at low level flight then disappear as you gained altitude then re-appear as you descended.  Different imagery would pop in around the aircraft in a small radius.  Clearly higher LOD images but different colours, times of day and even seasons.  Also different time frames as may contain different scenery altogether if more up to date.  Occured with an empty community folder and all world updates deleted.  Can see the issue not only on the world map but also on Bing Maps website outside the sim.  Huge thread on Asobo forums and its 'Bug Logged' by them so they can replicate it - but have yet to fix it.  Only fix so far has been to use the Map Replacement mod, sometimes Bing Latest server helps but some locations it does not and needs the Google Map server selected - which comes at a price and that is some textures like coastal water is watermarked with "Google 2023" or a risk of Google blocking streaming if downloading too much data.

Excellent, I never noticed the brightness, contrast and colour settings in the mod and just did a quick test.  May I ask what your settings are on the above screen shots?  I also use Reshade with the FinalLight and LumaSharpen filters.  I do like the deep colours in yours.  I agree the Google Maps textures sometimes do look a bit too bright by default.

Something that killed this problem off for me

AppData/Local/FlightSimulator/

Delete everything in there, the json, and the mapscache folder (backup if you wish but FS will recreate it upon launch)

It seems this problem arises from use of the Map Enhancement app as when you're not using it this cache and the overrides can be left a jumbled pile of conflict. Deleting and letting FS rebuild these got rid of the weird convoluted texture changes and popping upon elevation changes.

Edit: And yes, foot in mouth, this wasn't an MS issue.

Is this the same cache which the mod creates?  Theres a button you can press on the mod to manually delete the replacement textures cache (different to the rolling cache in the sim - which I never use).  Ive used the mods clear cache to no avail.  I think there was plenty of commenters on the 600+ thread on Asobo forums said they have never used the map replacement mod yet still got this increasing problem.  Problem does not occur when using Google maps.  Its a Bing issue and present even outside the sim simply using Bing Maps in a web browser.  I will give your advice a test though about to head out of the country for a few days
