City update 4

Featured Replies

Supposedly available now, though I:m not at my PC to check

City Update Western Europe, featuring Rotterdam, Cologne, Luxembourg, and other locations. Includes hand-made Cologne-Bonn Airport.

Local Legend Airplane is the Dornier Do X flying boat, presumably made in conjunction with Bluemesh as the art style and tow-boat is the same as used in the French flying boat

also check your content manager for updates to the Germany and France World Update POI packages.

You'll have to hit the open bundle button for them to show up

Hi,

Anyone knows where is the list of cities and other things of this update?

Thank you in advance.

PS. I imagine that some of them will collide with third party add-ons.

Who is it at MS/Asobo who has this obsession with Interwar European Flying Boats that is now firmly tipping over into the fetishistic ?

Apparently Jorg, as he was interviewed alongside the videos stating he has been trying to get this into the game for a while, and that the research was a roadblock. Seems to almost be a personal desire from him, under the spirit of using MSFS to bring back aircraft that have no surviving examples in the real world. Glad to see that it's not an Aeroplane Heaven mess of an addon this time, but dissapointed at how niche this one is, especially in light of the flying boat released prior that performs a similar mission. Here's hoping for something more versatile but from an equally skilled developer in September.

Not quite the way I was going to say it, but that's actually quite an accurate description!🤣

I'm certainly not against adding less common types of aircraft over the multitude of largely similar GA aircraft (or multiple Airbus/Boeing airliners), but there is definitely a big bias towards big flying boats from Asobo for some reason.

Posted as I was posting the above.

Will be interesting to see which is better, the Asobo Cologne-Bonn Airport, or the Aerosoft version.

@St MawganI agree that London, Toronto, Vancouver and to a lesser extent Paris are in need of a "postwar cleanup"  but im not mad at having these smaller cities getting some decent polish. I think the most glaring omissions are South America, the Caribbean, India  and Indonesia in general..

I'm all for the interwar flying boats, as long as they do a Short C-class.

Surely not everybody was kung fu fighting.

Can I add Southern California to that list that badly needs an update? Los Angeles' data is incredibly outdated. For an area that sees so much aviation, Im hoping SC gets an update soon.

i just closed MSFS and i got a message about a mendatory update. This must be it.

Maybe they keep it for another update. UK cities or London only with some additional POIs. They already have new photogrammetry data as can be seen in Bing Maps.
