Yes, there are a few transitions that don't sound so good, especially the sharp transition to maximum revs - it hits you like a wall of sound!
Other than this though, I am interested, dependent on a reasonable price.

Not just that, but the performance seems way too powerful from acceleration on t/o to climb rates exceeding 2,500 fpm. Compare: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=09-KkDgIdBs

Is this study level?

Thanks to our extensive cooperation with Alpen Air, we have access to the real aircraft and were able to get all references for the 3D model as well as spend a whole day with the aircraft for the sound recordings. In addition, Alpen Air pilots are available to us as advisors and check the systems and flight behavior. Within our possibilities and taking into account the limitations of the flight simulator, we implement everything exactly according to the manual. There will be no comparable extensive and realistic replica of this aircraft as ours.

Aerosoft is pretty shady IMHO.  The cost in Euro 33.50 in the European shop, but if you switch to the US Shop it is $39.99 (both w/o VAT).  Meanwhile Contrail is $37.38USD, which is much closer to the 33.50Euro at current rates.

The biggest issue so far is tablet location on the right side and no dedicated view to access it! Very awkward. Other than that very impressive

Ah man.  One shop I really don't like using (haven't been able to log into their pesky 'One' app for months) and one I've not heard of.

Pretty much anywhere else would have been great, Just Flight, Marketplace, even Simmarket!

I really want this but I'm going to show some rare patience and wait until it's for sale somewhere other than these two stores.

what's wrong with contrail?

AMD 7800X3D, Windows 11, Gigabyte X670 AORUS Elite AX Motherboard, 64GB DDR5 G.SKILL Trident Z5 NEO RGB (AMD Expo), RTX 4090,  Samsung 980 PRO M.2 NVMe SSD 2 TB PCIe 4.0, Samsung 980 PRO M.2 NVMe SSD 1 TB PCIe 4.0, 4K resolution 50" TV @60Hz, VR: Pimax Crystal Light + HP Reverb G2 @ 90 Hz, Honeycomb Bravo Throttle Quadrant, be quiet 1000W PSU, Noctua NH-U12S chromax.black air cooler.

60-130 fps. no CPU overclocking.

very nice.

Yeah, Contrail is one of the better ones. That's where I would get it.

Does anyone have first impressions? The biggest things I noticed in the previews were the sounds and the extreme TO and climb performance.

Is this one like previous FSS planes where Aerosoft is the publisher so even if you buy from a different store it still has to be installed/updated through the Aerosoft app ?

no. you get a serial number from contrail that you enter on first start.

Nothing at all from my perspective.  It's just that I prefer to keep the vendors where all my products and purchases are stored to a minimum.   I try to keep it to Marketplace, Justflight, Simmarket and Orbx where possible.

But we'll see how long I last, as I really want it 😄  If I do buy it, it will be from Contrail rather than Aerosoft. I'm not a fan of their clunky "Aerosoft One" app.

Contrail is solid, a lot of devs sell their stuff through them - you connect your accounts and then it’s easy downloads and updates, really well done.

That's incorrect - when you load the aircraft and hit 'fly now' a dialog box opens a link to the documentation. Well, it does for me anyway

It is correct, because there is no documentation anywhere to be found in the downloaded directory. A pilot needs to know the systems, weight & balance, normal procedures, performance etc. BEFORE take off, not only once you sit in the cockpit. and even if you click the link you mentioned once you sit in the cockpit, this happens:
