Is this on Xbox or PC?

Rob (but call me Bob or Rob, I don't mind).

I like to trick airline passengers into thinking I have my own swimming pool in my back yard by painting a large blue rectangle on my patio.

In the box to the bottom right of the home screen, which links to the Marketplace page, sometimes an individual product or special offer replaces that general link. Right now, it's advertising the new F14 Tomcat.  It's not really an advert box popping up, unless DD_Arthur is referring to something completely different to what I experience.

That is coming from the Xbox Game Bar. You can turn notifications off and it will go away for good (for now, who knows in the future what will happen). I’m not on my PC but the settings are in the game bar - press winkey+g, then in the top menu there should be a settings icon. Poke around in there and you should find how to switch this off.

9800X3d, 4090, 64 GB DDR5 6000 RAM, 4 TB NVME (2x2), 4K Ultra + Framegen

That makes sense; I've never received anything like that as I've always suspected 'Gamebar' would be useless junk...

Ah, yes, the Game Bar pop-up, an entirely different annoyance! Ironically, they even pop up when you use Game Bar to record video, surely the very thing they shouldn't interrupt.🙄 Definitely something to be disabled.

You can disable Xbox Game Bar completely if you want to. I know I did.
