Low-resolution areas in the current MSFS terrain mesh have been filled Gaps were filled with airborne LiDAR data, with 2-m resolution in Ireland and 1-m resolution elsewhere Edited December 9, 20232 yr by jon b 787 captain. December 14, 20232 yr I was just about to ask the same, even though it's a little over the price of a beer (expensive pubs round 'ere!), I'd rather than money went on that beer than a mesh that may not be worthy. December 14, 20232 yr I've been using it, there seems to be an improvement in the textures of mountainous areas and reduced morphing and popping. So far I've not seen any issues with airports. I have seen that the cliffs on Guernsey are still popping but I'm not sure this area is actually covered by the mesh, possibly not other than than I've only seen good things for £7.50 Edited December 14, 20232 yr by jon b 787 captain. The mountains are definitely looking a lot more contoured and nobbled on their slopes. Again I didn't see any popping and noticed no performance change, and there was nothing out of the ordinary seen at GLA or PIK , pyreegue and uk2000 respectively. £10 well spent I think I agree. I installed the mesh yesterday and while there aren't big changes, there are enough to make things a tad nicer. Morphing is still there, and I haven't experienced any issues with mismatched terrain around airports. Having said that, it's early days. But at the price I reckon it's worth a punt. But as I say, I haven't noticed anyting that's particularly worse than without using the addon mesh. December 15, 20232 yr If the mesh resolution is 2 metres, then there should be a big difference. What is the resolution of the default mesh? What is the resolution of the default mesh? it varies; lidar dtm is been mostly completed non long ago; however asobo been added high res mesh to British Isles for quite some time as the lidar data become available. All south of England is high res mesh; a 1 m or 2 m; this is screen taken over the Portland Bill in Dorset; is on a 1 or 2 m resolution by default.
