New Asobo Cirrus SR22, what's the verdict?

Featured Replies

Are you saying that your  new sr22T shows the "detail" softkey ?   Mine does not . Every other G1000 plane does, as expected. Weird...

UPDATE: XXX  I solved my problem ! I found out that the first use of this G1000 variant, named the 'perspective', may have set the map orientation and declutter levels to a default state wherein the 'detail' softkey is turned off. The solution is to use the menu button wherein the map features will appear and are selectable and modifiable. All I had to do was click on the declutter option and then the softkey turned on. Since then, the 'detail' softkey is always available. There is no way to turn it off. It survives a full computer reboot. Thanks folks.

  • I finally had a chance to update and take a quick flight in the 22T. Overall, what a superb job representing the plane! It does fly largely by the published performance numbers which is great. Th

No, we goofed. 🙂 I know folks like to blame Asobo for all sorts of things, but we're perfectly capable of creating bone-headed bugs too, thank you very much. 😅 Again, as for sounds, they're bit f

Yes, it does. Do you have a screenshot of what you're seeing, by any chance?

Anyone else notice no sound when you click the ice light?

Sound still worked in ice with the light(s) on. Actually was impressed with how well the sound repicated the engine noise (is loud).

Seeing the declutter softkey, but haven't tried pressing it

I mean the switch itself doesn’t make a sound when you press it. All the other switches you can hear the click when you click the switch. The one for ice light doesn’t make a sound when you click it.

while everyone is concerned about the doors, the bigger issue is the chute handle cover. It should be removeable (checklist item) and the handle and cute should work! 🙂

I wonder if chutes will be possible in 2024. They showed off soft body physics with a hot air balloon at FS Expo

Did you try with the engine running and off? If its any consolation you can't hear those switches 'click' in the real plane either... its too loud 🙂

Issues found so far:

1. Window heat doesn't seem to be working or I'm doing something wrong

2. The two forward overhead lights is not accessible do to the window visors.  The left rear overhead light isn't working

3. The trim indicator either needs to be figure out on the yokes or an indicator on one of the displays needs to be added

4. To many texture requirements for repainters

5. Doors need to open (beating a dead horse but adding to the list:ph34r:)

MSFS doesn't really have anything approaching parachute physics and so CAPS is not implemented.

I think what's being asked here is during the checks (which I saw on a few real world videos) we should be able to click on the cover and remove it.  No one is asking for pulling the lever but the cover should be removable per the checklist.🧐

I can't say it enough, the flight model is amazing.  Just did a cross country over Florida and you really can fly this thing by the published numbers.🍺

In the MSFS menu is the new SR22 labeled correctly? It appears to me as just the old SR22 with old specifications and not SR22T G6. I have the premium deluxe and SU14.

If you would like to see SR22T when selecting the airplane, edit the aircraft.cfg file  and change this line:

ui_type= "SR22T G6"

or to whatever you want to see on the selection screen.. 😉

In most situations, the fuel flow is matching book down to the decimal. I would check the POH (freely available on the Cirrus site) to confirm if you're having an issue or not.

MSFS doesn't really have anything approaching parachute physics and so CAPS is not implemented.

The fuel pump in boost mode is there to add pressure (not additional fuel flow) to prevent a fuel vapor lock condition at high fuel temperatures. The engine driven pump is sufficient to maintain fuel flow to the engine in all conditions. You will not see a difference in fuel flow or engine performance as fuel metering is via the ECU and injectors. This just adds additional fuel pressure to the system.

Since fuel vapor lock scenarios are rare, that's not a thing we model as a failure, as they would somewhat be random number based, a thing which we don't much care for.

The sim doesn't really support non-aero trim. The SR trim is a force bias based system that changes the control stick neutral point (there is no aero trim surface), which doesn't really have a mappable sim analog, since you can't change the users control center point through any kind of force. Therefore we cannot really implement that. Adding an animation offset to fake it would unfortunately break users with VR controls trying to use the control stick, as well.

We did check icing a bit in testing, and the FIKI system is only designed for certain levels of icing conditions. That being said we can keep an eye on this.

Thanks, that's incredibly kind of you!

Had a chance to try the flight again today:

1)RPM not moving:  At 12,000ft level cruise 2500 RPM with WOT. Could not get RPM to change when pulling power. Moving the throttle made no difference stuck at 2500 RPM.

2) CHT's not moving: CHT's are not moving/rising poperly on the engine page. Only the right side EGT graph bars move up/down. The CHT's were frozen similar to the RPM issue above.

3) TKS: When loading the plane it shows 70gal of TKS (default). Noticed in icing again none of the de-ice worked. Checked the TKS tanks and they showed empty! Is this the reason it is not shedding ice when turning de-ice on? Of note also is lack of TKS fluid depiction. When switched on, you will see it weep back on the wings.

4) Anti-ice: Tried turning the cabin fan to 4 (highest) and temp full red (highest). Made no difference in cabin window and/or windscreen ice. The airflow buttons are not clickable. They should be to direct warm air to windshield. As should the AC button, which has a noticeable drag on the engine (50 RPM give or take when the belt is engaged).

5) The non-clicky button referenced earlier is confirmed non-clicky. All the rest click. 🙂

Why did they remove the standard SR22, having both would be ideal.

My guess is that Cirrus had a hand in featuring their latest airplane... 😉
