It came as an unpleasant surprise to read in a topic there on Saturday that attention has switched from fixing bugs in the P3Dv5 version to MSFS.

No announcement. It just came out of the blue after someone asked why there hadn’t been any updates for a couple of months.

Very sad, but shows the truth of how slow P3D sales must be going, and ongoing support is one of the reasons I've been holding off on this purchase.

Hopefully they'll loop back and patch the P3D version, and for that reason, hopefully the MSFS version is "close".

Not sad, just disappointing because it’s 99% great. I’m unaffected by performance issues fortunately. Just some other fairly minor issues that wouldn’t take much to fix you would hope.

They fulfilled their promise to bring a 64-bit Concorde to P3D and they should be applauded for that.

Indeed - and despite some folks negative perception of them, their addons have a High Fidelity level like few others.

I hope they continue on and succeed!

I've always known that one day I'd buy the FSL concorde when it comes out.  Maybe not right away.  But it looks like a great challenge.  Historically those planes are the ones that have brought me the most enjoyment.

Not the first time that's happened with a long-haul airliner...

P3D fans will unfortunately just have to accept it in its current state or migrate to MSFS.

Landing certainly is. With the 32-bit version I could confidently handle throttles manually at 5 miles out landing around 155kts. Not so with this one. Mandatory auto-throttle until 15ft. Then flare , disable autothrottle and then engaging reverse thrust. All in a couple of seconds! 😁

It replicates the real-world procedure and needs a lot of practice.

It’s a very different animal to the 32-bit version and nothing like flying a Boeing or Airbus.

I am fully aware of that,  I have both the 32bit version and the latest 64bit version. On the 32bit version, I quite enjoyed managing all the fuel tanks myself during a flight. It was quite satisfying when you completed a whole fight successfully while also doing the flight engineer's job.  I did not start out that way. I had to learn it over the years. So will new customers.

My Point is, I am far from the only one on MSFS that enjoys flying complex airlines and therefore suspect FSL will do well with Concorde.

Why unfortunately? It’s not as though the aircraft is unflyable. Just a few issues and considering its complexity is a remarkable piece of coding.

I’ll be staying with my sim of choice.

@rickjake, I handled fuel too eventually on the 32-bit. Very satisfying as you say. Not sure when those features will be available.

I suspect the market is big enough to support the golden oldies.

At some point in the not too distant future an example of all current commercial airliners will be available for this sim. Devs will have to have some imagination at that point….

Edit; also suspect we’ll be flying Raul’s 727 before a Milviz 737 too…

Supporting golden oldies. Interesting article today on minimising memory loss in old age. Learning a new skill was one of the recommendations.

Who's going to step up and develop a "High Fidelity" 787 payware that we don't have to rely on and buying a Premium Deluxe version of MSFS to use the default with a bunch of mods to be flyable but sill has bad flight models? QW we are looking at you.

Us boomers could use some classics but the Milliennials are not going to buy it. Look at the MD-80 by Leonardo a classic and one of the best (simulated) airliners in MSFS and no one talks about it.

I wonder if they will program the Max sidewall blowing out?

The 737-900ER has the same plug/door. Are you going to request it for them also ? This is why we can’t have nice things, 🤔

There’s certainly a massive 787 shaped hole in the simulation market.

What we have is good for A to B normal ops but the really interesting part of this particular jet is it’s non-normal operations and working the non-normal electronic checklists.

Maybe one day someone will rise to the challenge, in the future there’s the flight factor 787 coming to XP but personally I’ve almost completely left that platform now, but would go back specifically for 787 flights.

I love the maddog also.  I don't for a second think it would ever sell to the numbers of modern day planes.  However, I don't think Leonardo is doing themselves any favors with their pricing strategy.  I think they are missing a huge opportunity to sell a bunch more of their airplanes by either lowering the price or even having sales throughout the year.
