Alright you convinced me, I‘ll be using Star Alliance (and the other 2 VA alliances) from now on instead of APL. I‘ll just have to better figure out how to let my computer run overnight or for longer periods when I want to do a long(er) haul flight.
I really like the websites they have, pretty slick and immersive. Much better than APL‘s black-and-white app. Already have done 3 flights, one for Skyteam and two for StarAlliance,, worked really well.

For transparency: I'm a community mentor at the BATC discord. However, I do not get paid for it in any way.

No PMDG and all other forums and Discord servers are not a problem. But stay away from the Flight Simulator forum if you don´t want CONSTANTLY 50% of all your postings getting removed overnight, with one "warning" after another (but without actually having done anything.) And if the devils have nothing to come up with to continue endlessly punishing you or to force you out, suddenly a posting from May 2021 or December 2022 "is suddenly inappropriate and hurts forum restriction §43254365 or rule-this or rule-that, which gives you another last warning" hahahaha 😄

PMDG is a nice normal forum, they just want you to tell them a fake or artist´s name in the signature 🙂 nothing bad about that.

They are pretty good. One thing I learned recently is if you choose "Route Suggestions" it gives you routes that are earning bonus points.

The scoring is kind of a riot through. I had an absolute plonker of a landing but the only thing keeping me from getting 100% was I forgot to set the parking brake.

I just looked at the number of pilots presently flying APL and Virtual Alliance VA.   APL, approx. 340 flights in progress, Virtual Alliance, at most ,15 flights. That should tell you something.

Ha! my exact problem, my next leg is YSSY to WSSS and I can't figure out how to squeeze it in with my work schedule. I'm planning on doing it before bed and waking up early to land, it'll be an overnight flight from Sydney anyway so there'll be no scenery gazing.

I can't figure out the area where you can return aircraft to their hubs for 100% bonus points. Last night I was looking at EDDF and it had a list of aircraft needing returning to their respective hubs, when I would enter the ICAO for the hub I couldn't see any flights for that aircraft. I'll need to sit down and go through it properly.

I love the add-on (Vera is a honey), but I keep getting scored down for not turning off the taxi lights during the taxi back after landing.

I'm no airline pilot, but should the taxi lights not be on until approaching the stand?  I know landing lights go off on runway vacate.  What am I doing wrong?

You don't want to blind the ground crew with taxi lights, so they should go off as you approach the stand. As long as they are off before you set parking brake and shut down engines, you should be OK.

Go to Routes, then at the top Route Suggestions. That should give a list of flights with the refturn bonus. You can filter them like you do with regular routes.

You may have to into the booking to see which airplane actually gives the bonus.

Route suggestions (in the routes tab) will give you exactly that. Just enter the departure airport and you'll be shown all flights with returnable aircraft.

EDIT: Too slow.

Yes, as Bob said, you turn them off once you do the turn onto the stand (i.e. when you're approaching the waiving marshaller). Those taxi lights are pretty strong and will blind anyone in their path, even in bright daylight.

@Fiorentoni @BrammyH thanks, gents. I'll give it a look later 👍
