FAA is busy hiring special people!

Maybe they hope flights will become more of an adventure with passengers encouraged by flight crews to act more colorfully, instead of orderly?

"The Federal Aviation Administration is recruiting workers with severe intellectual disabilities, psychiatric problems, and other mental and physical conditions under a diversity and inclusion hiring initiative."

I really hope this unwise initiative was indeed cancelled.

I know that DEI is all the rage nowadays, and has clearly gotten out of hand, but when thousands of people's lives are at stake we can only pray that some wise folks intervene.

We're watching the destruction of our society from within, and stuff like this is all part of the agenda.

No, unfortunately not cancelled...superceded.  I was certain that this story came from the Babylon Bee or the Onion, but alas, no.

I wait with bated breath to see the press release trumpeting the news of the FAA's first blind autistic schizophrenic paraplegic dwarf with dyslexia graduating from air traffic controller school.

It appears that language was present back in 2013, regarding intellectual disability, psychiatric illness and so forth.  https://web.archive.org/web/20130226035813/http://www.faa.gov/jobs/diversity_inclusion/

I don't agree with DEI programs because they supersede qualifications for quotas.  It just sounds like this isn't a new issue they've proposed.

It is profoundly easy to get that impression when reading idiotic ideas such as these. Stuff like this is simply to 'word-not-allowed' stupid to not be malicious by design and intent.

For me it would depend on what their disability is and if it impacted their job. If not, then I don't think we should discriminate.

Clearly if they are in roles that become compromised as a result, that's nuts.

I'm with you when it comes to DEI gone rampant, but where you'll lose me is stuff like this. The elaborate, malicious plan by the evil people here is what? Destroying society by hiring people with mental illnesses to put behind a desk? What a genius plan. Or is it making mute people ATCs so planes collide and crash to watch the world burn?

I'm genuinely interested in the psychology of why people like to favor the most unlikely explanation in the form of an utterly contrived conspiracy theory rather than the much more likely and simpler explanation - plain human stupidity. Occam's Razor comes to mind. There are far more practicable ways to destroy society than DEI.

I think that all kinds of discrimination should be the norm. In the course of living my life and conducting my business I pick and choose who I want to associate with, do business with, work for, employ, have a beer with, all based on whatever criteria I like; Race, creed, sexual orientation, A-hole or non A-hole etc etc. end of story. I'll dislike you for whatever reason I please and like you for whatever reason I please. If you want to dye your hair blue or chop your dingaling off or vote liberal etc etc. be my guest but don't expect me to associate with you in any way. Discrimination is the norm and requires no government oversight. It's a level playing field.

She has a pretty good résumé:

"Carole Murray is vice president of Total Quality for Boeing Commercial Airplanes, chair of the Boeing Quality Operations Council and a member of the company’s Executive Council."

"Murray previously was senior director of Quality for the 787 Program."

"Before that role, Murray was the 787 Production Engineering chief engineer."

"She holds a Bachelor of Science in aerospace engineering from North Carolina State University and a Master of Science in organizational management from Charleston Southern University."

Well, I used to think exactly like you.  There's a saying: "never ascribe to malice that which can be explained by stupidity", and I applied that to what I saw going on.

I wish that were the case, but after much research and observation over the past several years, my only conclusion is that the dismantling and demoralization of our society is being done purposefully.  By whom?  I'm not really sure.  I do know some of the "players", but will not list them here.

Stupidity, ignorance, and incompetence also play a big role, but there is an agenda to weaken society, both physically, which includes the human body as well as physical infrastructure and industrial/energy capacity, and mentally.  Some of it is being done by nation-state adversaries, but much of it is being accomplished by people, corporations, and governments that are part of the same society.

Make no mistake, this stuff is no accident or "bad idea".  It is purposeful.  I don't know what the endgame is, but I can guess.
