Remove all the women from the work force so they can stay at home, raise children, clean the house, do the laundry and ironing, shop for groceries and cook meals. It worked in the past. It should work in the brave new world of robots. Given that higher value work increasingly requires greater collaboration skills, EQ and curiosity, I'd suggest we do the exact opposite and remove all the men from the workforce. Probably would have better outcomes. Luke Kolin I make simFDR, the most advanced flight data recorder for FSX, Prepar3D and X-Plane.

Now, you know, Noel, that saying things like that nowadays can get you into hot water.😉 However, I'm willing to bet that many women, and men, would choose to stay at home instead of going to work like you propose. The problem is that the cost of living has gone up so much in the past 50 years, mainly due to foolish monetary and govt. policies, that most households need 2 incomes. Moreover, most people nowadays want it all, right now, so they spend like drunken sailors, making a single income inadequate - and they're still in debt up to their eyeballs. January 22, 20242 yr I wouldn't mind that at all Luke. I think I'd make a good house husband. I like to cook and I used to share the laundry chores with my wife. But I don't think I'd like vacuuming. Perhaps I could get a robot to do that. Noel The tires are worn. The shocks are shot. The steering is wobbly. But the engine still runs fine.

That has to be exhausting. Then cut off the top & make sure it doesn't take you along with it. Then, after that, you have to go step by step back down. The part that made me flinch is how he hopped on the board so that it would pivot him into position. I wonder how many of them fell during that maneuver.
January 26, 20242 yr I dunno about this robot world actually coming into being, it'll have to happen very quickly if it is to get a foothold...why? Its been so long now since major death and destruction was visited on developed western countries by enemies both current and to come that all out war has become a sort of abstract concept...we've had a good run, it wont always be that way and it might be coming sooner than we all imagine, certainly leaders here in the UK seem to almost be willing it happen (really poor socio-economic outlook has a history of provoking major war and the outlook is clearly poor right now) If it goes Nuclear, the now quite old film below is probably a good reminder of what actually happens when you release megatons of Hydrogen bombs and how deluded anyone who believes all that survive a few years in a bunker and it'll be good nonsense would have to be https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Threads_(1984_film) Edited January 26, 20242 yr by Lonesome Cowboy Burt

There is still at least a small awareness in Europe of what it means to be bombed, invaded, and occupied by a hostile foreign adversary, but most younger people have no clue. We had a brutal and devastating civil war, but that was 160 years ago. We have many people in power now who are megalomaniacal with delusions of grandeur and much hubris, and who apparently aren't thinking of the consequences of their foolish actions. If things ever go nuclear, it's all over; civilization in the West would end badly. I think some of these people truly believe that they could wait it out in an underground facility, but they are fools. BTW, I've watched that British film about a nuclear attack, and it realistically depicts how grim and horrible things would be in the aftermath. Everyone should watch it.
