You guys must have all missed the part where the dev put it to a vote and the majority asked them to release early. Several of us said yes, release early but just be prepared for the dogpile of people

My defender hasn't picked up anything from the latest version.

I hope they do. I found there reasoning for not doing so at the moment unconvincing.

Why? It makes perfect sense.

Why does it matter if departure is 1:1? Why are you staring at flightaware/radar or whatever while flying to notice if a flight is off by a couple minutes from the real one?

I don't understand this obsession with live traffic.

Live Schedule does not mean Live Traffic. It just means that the scheduled flights leave the gate at the right time. You will tweak this anyway to your liking, wether you really want 100% coverage or just 75% or less.

The non-live traffic is also based off real schedules based off data gathered over several months. So they'll be accurate 90% of the time, obviously don't account for weather and such.

Lol people get so confused by this, even developers.

Hi

Completely issue!

I am having issues with batc not connecting at some airports airport.

I have tried with empty community folder too.

any advise please-is common issue or just me.

Also batc does not not give instructions on altitude change after take off.

I use fshud- this seems to have better interaction.

Yea, we non-Supporters will have to wait 2-3 months after before we can experience ATC traffic on a ATC program, Now isn't that special!  Does that make any sense to all non-supporters of an Early Access(EA) addon that gives feedback today in the current state is in?  You would think they would have all of their customers including no-supporters testing their traffic injection since all CPU systems are different.

I must have misunderstood when I purchased BATC, I thought the "supporters" option was just a volunteer or good gesture to support the developer with the extra $$ in exchange for maybe some kind of perks to give supporters free premium voice tokens once in a while etc, not critical updates to a EA addon. I question this on their Discord and they came back with some reasoning that still didn't make sense to me and then telling me to upgrade to gain access to "Experimental Updates" at a cost $30 more for me to test their addon.  Well, I don't know what they think I am doing now with the current Early Access BATC in the state that is in. I am giving them feedback!   But for me to have the traffic injection for an ATC in an EA state I have paid for,  I have to shell out another $30 bucks!  Go figure!

I've never seen anything like this for an EA or beta software from any developer unless someone can point me where this has been done.

"Experimental" is just that - it's for a bigger beta testing, it will be buggy and outright frustrating. It's not the premium tier or whatever you imagined. What do you think would happen if they just released an early beta to the whole 10000+ customers? People would flood Discord with complaints and go and tell others about it.

So as for the reasons to pay another 30 bucks: It's to support the devs and/or if you want to help testing (not playing/using etc) an early beta version. Nothing ese. The other customers will get it when it's in an enjoyable state... that's how things should be, right?

EDIT: Also just for clarification: Early Access is *not* testing. It's playing/using in a non-complete state. You are not obligated to submit bug reports or anything else, you can just use it.

For transparency: I'm a community mentor at the BATC discord. However, I do not get paid for it in any way.

"customers will get it when it's in an enjoyable state"

So it in an enjoyable state right now? lol, You can spin it the way you want to.  I am not going to argue what is "Experimental" or "Early Access" is defined. I'm just stating my opinion on how they went about it.  I misunderstood this supporters perks requirement to gain access to critical updates for an EA addon.  My mistake.  I'll assume since I am not a "Supporter" they don't need my feedback anymore and that is ok.  I'll just park the addon until they have it all under control and at a release for public state.

You are the one spinning words. I was obviously talking about *AI traffic* being in an enjoyable state.

I got what you meant and you're right, BATC in the current state is in, is not very enjoyable, even without traffic.  Every update released so far breaks something else.  I see their Discord site with many having issues after updates. I too have had issues and reported them because I knew going in it was an EA product, bugs are to be expected.  So much for supporters doing rigorous "Experimental" testing before us non-supporters get to have it....eh?

Like I said, I'm done with it until BATC is bug free and ready to be as you say, "Enjoyable".  In the meantime, there is another ATC program that is coming out very soon that I am looking forward to and FSHUD will be updating their current ATC addon and their beta releases will be available to all of their customers with no restrictions of paying extra $$$ to be an "Experimental Supporter" customer nonsense.🤢

I've been using BATC since launch and I don't recall any serious issues, and has gotten better with the patches.

Again, that’s not what I said. You’re doing this on purpose right? I‘ll make it as simple as possible for you: BATC is enjoyable right now without AI traffic. When AI traffic is going to experimental, it will not be enjoyable yet. When AI traffic is enjoyable, it will become available for all customers.

Hardly any update has broken stuff, you‘re confusing it with SI, they have this a lot due to the nature of their ATC. There are ten thousands of overall happy customers with BATC, but you seem to have decided to just not like BATC, so I don‘t see sense in any further discussions.

I've only been using BeyondATC for a couple of days and I'm very happy with my purchase. I have run into a few issues when using the ATC, but most of those were my own fault, for not doing things correctly. Yes, there are a number of procedures that still need a lot of work, but even at this stage it is miles ahead of the default ATC. I spent time on Discord before deciding to give BeyondATC a try, and was initially concerned with the amount of complaints that were being posted there.  But it soon became clear that most of those complaints were due to pilot error. Too many people just install addon programs and try to use them without putting in any real effort to learn how to use the program correctly.

Home Airfield: KHIE

I‘ve been using it since release and overall I‘m happy with it. In fact, I can‘t imagine flying without it anymore. Having said that, I still find it rather annoying when it doesn‘t unterstand my read back frequencies. Sometimes it asks me to repeat it 4 times or so, no matter how clearly I say them. I then just give up and have it read back automatically. Does my head in. It seems to struggle especially with the 2s.

I’m also very happy with it. I use it every single flight now and it still has a few glitches but no real show stoppers. It would be nice to be able to plan for a gate rather than have to go through the menu during the very busy after landing sequence and some interaction with GSX would also be good. Overall though, this is one of my all time favourite add ons.
